Food was alright at best. A little disappointing from last time we were here. They don't put salt or vinegar on chips like back home. Sausage was nothing like a chippy sausage back home. Quite deer for a meal, worth a try though.

Smelled of old deep fry oil, fries were excellent though, fish was average.

While it’s nice to know that an effort is made to show consideration for the patrons health and wellness by using “organic” ingredients, we didn’t really care because it’s deep fried fish and spuds. Moreover, all of the food lacked flavour. The mushy peas had no taste whatsoever.

Odd hours and it’s too bad. Dropped by in the afternoon before returning to Calgary before it gets dark and they closed at 2pm until 4:30pm. I guess we didn’t miss much, but after driving around the block three times to park at a good establishment with odd hours, we had enough and just left town and hit fish and chips at a local place. We listened to the hype, but probably wouldn’t bother again.

Great venue, lovely old house converted to a restaurant. Best fish and chips we have had since England. Great friendly service.

I have eaten many times here and this will be my last. The batter on the fish was non existent and the quality of the fish has deteriorated drastically. For the price they charge this is very disappointing. As an English person this was my go to but sorry not anymore.

I ordered off Skip tonight it had a 10 rating so I was expecting good fish and chips. With homemade tarter sauce crispy fish and chips this is what I got soggy Luke warm fries starter sauce from a jam packet coleslaw was ok but nothing I would recommend to anyone. I wouldn't recommend this place. Not sure why they have a 10 rating on skip. I think I will stick with with Mr Spuds as the best fish and chips in Okotoks. This was disappointing.

We've been eating at and ordering from the British Chippy for about ten years. It used to be great but recently it seems to have gone downhill. The fish and chips that arrived today via Skip the Dishes looked and tasted as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a couple of hours. They were lukewarm and dry.Given that there are less expensive, tastier options in town, the British Chippy will probably be getting much less of our custom in future.

Great little Fish and Chips shop, service was good, food was quite quick and tasted really good. Fish was not battered to much nor was it real greasy like most places.

We have always loved going here for the best fish and chips, today we were so disappointed, the fish was very thin and not worth the trip. We travelled from Olds for a family treat don’t think we will be back any time soon.We always bragged that this location had the best fish and chips…

Had the Cod and coleslaw. Absolutely delicious. But my favorite part was definitely the Banana Fritters for desert! ?

We were recommended to come try out the restaurant from a local Brit. We are from a town NE of Calgary so drove a bit to get there. Chips were great, coleslaw was good. Cod was good, but I think we were expecting it to be a thicker piece of fish/batter. Battered sausage was good(sausage itself was so tasty, very much like in the UK), but the batter around it needed to be thicker to be more authentic. The beef meat pie was ok but it needed more liquid/sauce/gravy inside the pie(was very dry). Service was good, but the wait for food was far too long, considering most of it was deep fried.

We dined at the British Chippy in Okotoks last evening and were very disappointed in the meal. When entering the restaurant the smell of cooking oil is strong and wondering if they are using old cooking oil. Our meal was haddock and fries. The fish was okay except for the greasy batter but the fries were awful - very greasy and soggy.and inedible. This restaurant used to be better but has certainly gone downhill. We definitely won’t be back.
