Mediocre at best! Our 1st clue should have been when we 1st walked in there was no smell of bbq. Meat tastes like it's been frozen and warmed. Waitess was knowledgeable and friendly but a bit too present. We got a Memphis feast it was enough food for 2 with leftovers...not sure it would feed 4 as stated.

Ordered the Shrimp Poo Boy. It was the smallest driest sandwich I’ve ever had. First off Poo Boys are served on a sub style bread not a tiny dinner roll. The shrimp was cooked in a tasteless corn batter. It was cold it came with 1.5 spoonfuls of beans and 1 bite of coleslaw. I’ve gave this place 2 chances now both time was overpriced and disappointed. I don’t mind paying the money if it’s worth it but now I won’t go back

Both my husband’s and my sandwich were the size of a dinner roll, my pulled chicken had a bone in it and my mother-in-law’s Cesar salad was taste-less. They were out of a dish that we originally wanted - Guess the 1st clue it was going to be a negative experience was that the whole restaurant was empty-on a Saturday-at 12:30. Oh, and for what we got, the price did not match.

Delicious food - best brisket I've ever had! Service was awesome, reasonable prices and enjoyed the music!! So glad we finally checked out this restaurant!

We’ve ordered to go from here a few times now and it’s progressively gotten worse. Will definitely not be ordering from here again. The meat is over cooked and just overall bland. The BBQ sauce provided is not good at all either. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Had it at a staff party and I’d never eat their food again. I honestly can’t find one good thing to say about it. Meat was over cooked, pulled pork was dry and tasteless. Calamari was so spicy it was impossible to eat. Shrimp was cold, coleslaw was way too vinegary. Fries looked like they sat on the counter for an hour. Beans looked disgusting, so didn’t try. As I said, nothing good to say. And if they actually paid what I heard… Big waste of money!!

Brisket was great, but as others have said, the quality of the bun it was served in was low. It flaked apart like generic western family burger buns. It's a shame that a dry bun detracts from the star of the show: the BBQ! Worth checking out, but I hope they read the feedback and try another source for bread.

Have to preface this review with a note that we're HUGE fans of Memphis Blues BBQ, visiting the Kelowna location whenever we're out west. The Red Deer restaurant just isn't the same, unfortunately. Food was good, but not 'Memphis Blues' good. Service wasn't great.Arrived just before 7pm, and was told the restaurant was closing early, due to a lack of business (Google Maps shows a close time of 8pm). We were offered two options: take-out, or miss out on a Memphis Blues Feast. Slightly disappointed, we elected to grab the food and eat at our hotel.Items ordered: Pulled Pork Poutine and 1/2 rack of ribs with fries, beans, and cornbread.Just after placing the order, we were informed that the restaurant was out of cornbread for the day. No problem... we great fully accepted the server's offer of a second serving of baked beans. Unfortunately, these were forgotten on the order (we were given a single serving of beans with the order).Ribs were cooked well, but did not have any sauce applied. Without sauce, they were on the bland side... again, not what I'd expect from Memphis Blues. One last observation: the bar selection at this restaurant pales in comparison to Kelowna. At the Kelowna restaurant, they have an unbelievable selection of whisky, including some tough-to-find offerings. The Red Deer restaurant has only the basics, which is too bad... nothing pairs with BBQ better than a solid bourbon.Would I give this location a second chance? Yes... they just could have been having an off-day. Would i recommend this location to others passing through town? Not likely... keep driving and hit up their locations in BC.
