5 star bbq for sure, best in Alaska.

Frank makes amazing bar-b-que! Everything is great, but I love getting a rack of ribs the best if I can get there before they sell out.

Was trying to get bbq for days but had no luck with other stores. Went to Yelp and found Franks. Saw they had 5 stars so figured I'd try it. Ordered one brisket sandwich only and one with a side of coleslaw. Upon pick up, paid over $33 and was shocked at how expensive it was. $19 for the sandwich and coleslaw and $15 for just a sandwich. I was told it came with 2 sides after the fact. I was never told that or given the option of a 2nd side when I ordered. So besides being super expensive, they're only open Friday's. I didn't like the bun - found it too hard. After one difficult bite, I ate the rest with a fork. It was decent for AK but I wouldn't return. Wasn't that good especially for the price. No prices on the menu .... I like Turnagain better - and they have better sides.

We tried this for the first time tonight, boy oh boy it's completely blew us away. Best barbecue I've ever had, the brisket was beyond this world! The sides were excellent, service was excellent, for a hole in the wall place this exceeds all expectations. The sides were delicious, I think maybe next time we might split a dinner as the portions are very large and generous. Definitely a new fan and will continue to go back

Best BBQ in Alaska. As a Texas native, I'm always in search of good BBQ and have been disappointed by the other offerings in town. My fiancé and I chanced upon Frank's during a Friday trip to ReMADE. We were both amazed by the fall of the bone baby back ribs and fork tender brisket. Both were seasoned perfectly and moist. I was equally impressed with Frank's sauce, which is seasoned well and is complementary to the rubs on the brisket and ribs. Sauce can make or break good BBQ and Frank's sauce only enhances the meat. We also enjoyed the beans and slaw. Our only wish is that Frank's was open more and closer to NE Anchorage, but these won't keep us away. Frank's is worth the tr

Good food, had to wait 5 minutes for a worker to show up at 530pm, then wait at least 15 more minutes for food. Once we received our food it was good though. Reminded me of some BBQ places in NC.

Probably the best pulled pork around.

Tried the pulled pork at the Best of Alaska today...WOW! Very good, perhaps best I've had (I've had some pretty good pulled pork in Memphis and Dallas). The BBQ was sweet and tangy but did not mask or take away from the meat. There was a lot of good food at the show but this was the only one we doubled up on. Can't wait to try their ribs.

Good news: great BBQ has returned to Anchorage! Bad news: it's only open on Fridays, from 11a-7pm (at the RE:made building) I was ecstatic when Oak Smoke BBQ first came to town. I had an Official Yelp Event (OYE) there for crying out loud! But, then they move to Wasilla. And now, I hear, they moved back down to California. I was excited to see a new BBQ place on Yelp. Even more so when I saw it had very few reviews. Frank's is well worth your time. The menu consists of various sandwiches/sandwich plates. A plate includes 3 sides (Fresh Coleslaw, Macaroni Salad, Ranch Sytle Beans) a sandwich is just a sandwich. The options are: Pulled pork Tri-tip Sausage Triple Threat(all three of the above) They also have ribs. I went with the triple threat. I wanted the ribs, but I knew I'd have to get the whole rack. And I knew getting a whole rack at 11am is a bit too decadent, even for me. Maybe for dinner sometime... The meat was moist (not sorry) and delicious and the portions were perfect. I was really impressed by the thoughtful bun choice. Rather than the plainest of plain white bread bun, you get a Kaiser roll that's toasted. I usually get BBQ platters that don't include bread, but I loved this setup! The beans were delightfully spicy (had jalapenos in them) and the coleslaw was crisp and not too sweet. This sauces was good, but a tiny bit too sweet for me. (although, I almost have an anti-sweet tooth...whatever that is called) As far as what "style" of BBQ Frank's is, I'm not sure. It seems to be mostly a Texas/California take (tri-tip). They also have pig, like southern BBQ, but they seem to be missing some of the southern BBQ side staples: collard greens, macaroni and cheese, etc. I love all BBQ but I grew up in a southern state, so I'm partial to the Southern BBQ take on things. I talked to Frank himself and he was wonderfully kind and is looking to buy a truck/trailer so he can be at more varied places around town. Watch this space! I will be back. You should go!

Frank's Bar-B-Que in Anchorage Alaska is one of the best spots in Anchorage. From the pulled pork to the oak smoked brisket plate you can't go wrong. Looking forward to hitting up this next year for his food cart he has up and running as well. Keep up the killer BBQ Frank!

Great new Bar-B-Que place located out of the re:made building in South Anchorage! Only open on Fridays as each day has a rotating chef, but the bbq here is worth trying for sure! I had the burnt ends with a side of ranch style beans. The burnt ends had a ton of flavor and included a good size portion. The beans had great flavor and a nice growing heat that built as you ate them. The sauce was a nice compliment to the meat and had a subtle flavor that never overpowered the flavor of the meat. Overall it was a great first experience and I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.
