The server was very rude, lacked manners, and the server had the nerve to tell me sometimes they give more food if you look bigger. I was given the most ridiculous explanation for why my meal was so small.

I have eaten at this Chinese restaurant for several years when I found it, I thought I hit the jackpot. Food was always delicious and plenty of it and service was great. Over the last six months, it has gone so downhill. After my last experience, I won’t be having anymore. Tough meat, lacking flavor and sauce. Nasty eggrolls and the fried rice looked like something that had been around for weeks!Time to find a new Chinese place ?

Gave four stars for the service because the food was ready when promised. Seriously some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The eggrolls were overcooked, the fried rice had a weird taste that was definitely missing something, not sure what, but had to add tons of soy sauce to give a little flavor. I actually think it was not 'fried' just tossed together with the veggies and meat and pre-made scrambled eggs thrown in for good measure. The rice almost had the texture of Minute Rice. While the sweet and sour chicken/pork was tasty and tender, it gave me some of the worst heartburn, and I take prescription medicine for that. My husband loves chicken fried rice and he just opened the container, looked at the food and said "Nope" not eating that. He plans on taking his back to the restaurant this morning to ask for a refund. We'll see how that goes. Very disappointed with the quality of this restaurant's food.

Updated 2024.02.27 Stopped by for an order to go for their wonton as a baseline for their food quality. The place inside appeared dark and not very appealing. Service was friendly. The wonton soup for USD 16 was ready in less than ten minutes. I brought it back to the hotel. The wonton is not authentic as there were four potstickers in the wonton soup. Despite that, the chicken broth tasted good and clean, that is not with alot of seasonings, right amount of saltiness, not very salty. Lots of nappa cabbage in the wonton soup. I've tasted much better wonton, and much worst. This is right in the middle of the pack, acceptable, despite using potstickers in place of wonton, should be reanamed potsticker soup.
Food was decent, but over the course of a year their prices have went up at least $10. Thats not inflation, that's just pure greed

Solid Chinese food. I always get a combination platter which is $12-16 and a filling meal for two people. Or one person if it's saturday and you're feeling zen about how much weight you've put on this year.I recommend the Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Chicken.

Used to love this place but things have definitely changed. Prices are through the roof ($25+ for entrees, $18 for soup, $8.50 for domestic bottles of beer...)Staff couldn't be more friendly but unfortunately the cost, quality and atmosphere don't add up to it being worth paying nearly a c-note for some egg rolls, two entrées and a couple of beers + tip.

The worst place ever to order an hour before they close. Ordered House Fried rice with Szechuan chicken, picked up the order got home and got some plain white rice and some nasty sticky chicken with only hard carrots in it. Taste horrible will never go to this place. It was gross. Waste of gas and Money.

After going to Jimmy's Asian food on Tudor, I think we will stop going to the Golden Gate. The chicken here always seems to be dry and hard, the egg rolls are "slightly burnt" The customer service here is very nice but the food seems to be overcooked. Give Jimmy's Asian food a try.
