I've been ordering out from Northern China for over 20 years (back when the combo A was less than $10). The food is great and the service is excellent. They've never made a mistake with any of my orders and the food has been consistent throughout the years. It's one of the few places in Anchorage I frequent on a regular basis.
The food is good and I get it the way I like it but the price of the meal is crazy high.

Small portions, big prices. We ordered noodles and got half an order with rice. Who puts rice with noodles? Northern china restaurant!! Bill was $60 for 2 egg rolls, 2 entree’s and noodles and not enough for any leftovers. You got us once, but not again until the portions come up to par.

The food was kind of expensive but everything I got was enough for 2 meals which I wasn't aware of at the time but a huge bonus. When we ordered for take out the person who took our order just said see you when you get here, no time frame whatsoever. We had to wait in the Jesus'ed out lobby for a while. Not my speed, but the food was fantastic.
Couldn’t place an order for pick up. They don’t start to cook it until you get there to pick up.

I used to eat here frequently in the 1980s. Much to my surprise and pleasure Northern China Restaurant is still operating with its classic recipe delights - and it’s just as good. Affordable price points; diverse Chinese-centric menu; attentive staff; clean and comfortable atmosphere.Delicious and well-worth lunch, dinner, or take-out. And the photos don’t do the taste justice. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. The atmosphere was great and service was amazing from a family owned business. We got the fried rice, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken ? and the general tso chicken. Everything tasted really fresh and good. Within 8 mins our food was received.
