Oh my goodness! This muffaletta sandwich and potato salad is FANTASTIC! RAN over to this place for my lunch break and they already had it ready so very fast! They will be seeing me quite often!

This place is authentic as it gets. Delicious, expertly crafted, and mouth watering Italian sandwiches made with high quality traditional ingredients. This place reminds me of lunches my Nonna would make back in New York. The Mufaletta sandwich was out of this world amazing. Excellent portions of cheese, meats, and spread. Their Cannolis are also some of the best I’ve had, with a perfectly baked pastry and rich filling.I’m not fluent in Italian but my ear perked up when I heard it being spoke and I felt like I was at home. Excellent restaurant.

Finally was downtown to try. Loved the Italian vibe, interesting sandwich options...but can we talk cannoli? ? The best I've had outside of homemade by a coworker. Worth the trip downtown alone!

They have great/amazing sandwiches ! they’re rude and have a very cold and un-welcoming attitude. This can be observed by their responses to other reviews lol. I DO NOT recommend buying coffee if you order an Ice coffee you’ll get more ice than coffee the shot was burnt so the coffee had a bitter taste the lemonade is delicious but for 6 or 7 dollars you get half a cup of basil lemonade the rest is ice I understand they’re a small business but so am I and I don’t like handing my money over for ice I have at home. I highly recommend the sandwiches they are worth the rude/unwelcoming atmosphere.

This place was featured on Guy Fieri’s show!!!Delicious tiramisu. Had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, they take pride in sourcing the BEST ingredients from Italy.Locally owned by a kind family. Definitely give it a try!

The service and food were incredibly lackluster at Originale. The restaurant is a walk up to order panini place. On my latest visit the cashier asked if I'd like potato salad, soup, or chips with my meal and I asked the cashier what was the soup today and she rudely pointed to a small sign that was well hidden behind the numerous knickknacks displayed on the front counter. The cashier did the same for my friend I was dining with when they asked what the soup was. After ordering we sat down and got our paninis about 10 minutes later. I had ordered the caprese panini that had the mealiest mushy tomatoes I have ever consumed. The bread was also soft and cold in the middle making for an extra mushy texture. I ended up picking the tomatoes off but the panini was hardly salvaged since the bread wasn't well toasted. I also ended up finding a dark black hair on my sandwich that clearly wasn't one of my own red hair. After finishing our sandwiches my friend and I cleared our table and sat for just a moment more to finish drinking our water when the same cashier who checked us out came over and said "Do you need anything else? I have people waiting for a table." I can usually overlook discourteous service, but the mushy panini paired with the curt and uncaring response of the cashier definitely set in stone my desire not to ever return to Originale or recommend the place to others. I remember when the place first opened years ago and was so welcoming and the paninis were toasted to perfection, but it's obvious that service and food is a thing of the past.

I was finally able to check out this popular Italian deli. Inside there are lots of items for sale. A few triple d memorabilia spots from their visit. We were there during lunch and luckily we were able to order and sit down right away. The woman working the counter, seemed to appreciate my enthusiasm for having my order in picture form. My lunch mate wasn't hungry, therefore she ordered tiramisu. It was some of the best I've ever had. I ordered a caprese panini with mortadella and tomato soup half size, perfection! I ordered a single lemon ricotta crepe that was absolutely divine, and a full size panini (forgetting the exact one) also with tomato sauce, to go. Lastly, can't forget the Italian lemon and orange sodas that were the perfect compliment. In the end, we took more to go, than we were able to sit and eat, at which point my lunch mate got up to ask for a to go box. At first the woman working the counter said no and directed us to use their provided foil. It wasn't until she realized I was also taking my crepe home, that she then decided to give us a to go box. I'm glad she changed her mind, because I definitely tipped @ 25 percent, when I made my order...just something to consider next time.

Stopped in looking for a late afternoon pizza - this was definitely the place to be. They close at 3, last order at 2:30, so we were lucky to stumble in around 2. Originale leans heavily into "authentic Italian," and the interior decor, menu and accompaniments, and warm hospitality reflect these values. We shared a Pinsa La Margheritta ($17), add salami ($2). Marvelous fresh flavors of mozzarella, basil, tomato, and deli sliced salami. Paired with a Blood orange Sicilian Limonata and an ice cold Peroni, this just hit the spot perfectly. We weren't famished enough to go for the sandwiches, but if I'm looking for lunch in Anchorage, I would absolutely come back to try them.

Ordered a muffuletta at this place. Being a native New Orleans, the home of the muffuletta, i took a gamble. It did not pay off. It was horrible. They used the wrong bread which was supposed to be a round sesame Italian bread NOT soft Focaccia bread like they used. They used the wrong meats and cheese. The olive salad was horrible. Olive salad is the heart of the muffuletta and it should be piled on too. This was a mess of a sandwich.
