Cool place until I saw they allowed Trump merch to be sold in their parking lot. Never returned

My go-to for lunch. Great service and atmosphere. The food is typically very good, especially breakfast. They also have specials and fantastic pie every day.

This classic Anchorage restaurant isn't what it was a few years ago. The food is typical American food, and the portions were generous but not very imaginative. I had the chef salad, which was on iceberg lettuce, with turkey and ham julienne strips and sandwich style cheese. Sandwiches were also very typical, BLT and soup. The soup was cold for my friend, which she commented about to waitress who promptly rewarmed it.All in all the food was good but not great. They still have their signature Pies for sale. I didn't have any, but my friend did take two slices home from the display case. They looked excellent.Kid-friendliness: I didn't see any kids while there, but they were prepared for them and surroundings easily would handle them.

One thing I marked down a star for was the problem with undermanned help. Suzi our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She rushed her little heart out to do what ever she could and she was above and beyond. But she couldn’t do everything by herself. She had a great attitude and was the shining star of Peggy’s. That said. The food and everything would have been better with the manning. We had breakfast. Eggs pancakes biscuits hash browns sausage and bacon was really good. Had some house made rubbar jelly that was pretty good. Sorry but can’t be better than my moms. Anyway a good place to try. Ask for Suzi!

Inconsistent food quality, stingy portions, high prices and poor service.Last visit, waitress was using.her smartphone the entire time broadcasting her upcoming job interview on Monday at 11:30 AM. When I was ready to leave, waitress asked me if I wanted another cup of coffee, but it was too late.I only had ONE cup of coffee looking at an empty cup during my entire visit.Steer clear of this business! Go somewhere else!

My tab was 33.50$ I worked at a restaurant for years and know the computer system I found multiple hairs in my food I ran my card for the for the 33.50$ I didn't even mention that there was hair in my food then I tipped 5$ dollars cash and I wrote zero dollar tip on the card apparently my card was adjusted after the payment for an extra 7$I called the manager and they basically told me have a good day this place is a joke no refund nothing so apparently I tipped 12$ because the sever adjusted I feel like I at least deserve a refund

Breakfast, pies, and diner environment - that's what they have. I do not recommend lunch unless you like unpack and heat type food (i.e. gravy in a bag). Great breakfast and even better pies!! Very friendly service.

I love a good diner, but this wasn't it. Small portions, slow service, and high prices. The daily special Philly cheesesteak was small and the plate felt like it had been sitting under the heat lamp a while. Taste wasn't there either, but I ate it because I was on a lunch break. Only a few old men in the restaurant drinking coffee. Won't be coming back to try more things as none of my friends cared for their food so I have little hope.

Stopped in for a double burger with bacon/side of fries and some extra onion rings. The burger and service was fantastic for a classic greasy spoon. Onion rings were over done and so were the fries. I enjoy the fries being cooked this way. The burger was hand smashed with real cheese and nice bacon. I wasn't disappointed about and appreciate the old building smell when we walked inside. The windows are extremely close to the roadway with a beautiful view of Merrill field and mountain range for the background. This place also has rare counter seating for those wanting a more personal experience with staff.Parking: Parking is decent around the building.

Excellent food! The atmosphere was diner/homey and the waitresses were attentive and friendly! We would go back.

It's a very old establishment. I'm a nostalgic kinda guy, so the old school lunch counter was a welcome sight. I also love the homemade, family diner feel to the place. Warm and friendly, the folks were wonderful to us. Very attentive, all the glasses stayed full, esp. the coffee. Plenty of parking, not a hard place to find. The food tasted great and the portions were adequate. My two eggs, potatoes and reindeer sausage hit the spot. Here, they are all about the pie. Don't walk out without at least one slice! 12/22

Best diner in Anchorage. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the sausage was delish. Their pancakes were so fluffy! I had the chicken fried steak too and it was so tasty. Great family restaurant. Great place to see the locals and get some breakfast and lunch. Will be back!
