I love this place, been here twice. Their greatest attribute is their creativity. The cocktail menu is where it's at, though the food is excellent too.

Their customer service could be better when there is a complaint.

The karaoke scene here is on fire! Go for great drinks and great company. Sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss during the earlier parts of the evening. But if you are looking for a chill drinking and microlounge experience then Sub Zero is the place to go.

Modern bar that was pretty busy. They looked like they were a bit short staffed for a while. The only bartender did a good job being friendly and trying to get everyone drinks. They had someone join him after a bit which helped a lot. There are more bartenders on the pool table side if you are in a hurry for a drink.

Amazing drinks and food, BUT they need to hire more people. We came in on a Thursday, and only the amazing owner Cory was bar tending/serving, and it wasn’t enough. Also, they had karaoke and it was painful, so we left after food and only one drink. We came back again Friday with our aunt and uncle who are locals, and though they had one sever, it still wasn’t enough. Our charcuterie board (although gorgeous) took over 45 minutes to come out, and we sat empty with our drinks for over 15 min before my husband went up to the bar to order. People were walking out because there was little to no service. We would have ordered more food and at least 2 more rounds of drinks if they had more people serving, they are losing themselves a ton of money. Band was good. They also messed up our bill. Giving 4 stars since Cory is amazing, the cocktails are outstanding, and the salmon tacos were some of the best tacos I have ever had. But please please please hire more people to help out, 2 hours for 2 rounds of drinks and a charcuterie board is unacceptable.

The food had good taste and flavor, and the bartender was friendly and had good recommendations. The atmosphere was chill and just what was needed after a Monday-like-Tuesday, I'll be returning again in the future :)

Really cool place in downtown Anchorage. The Wu Xiang cocktail was one of the best I've ever had.

Best mixed drinks in town. Try the Kentucky banana stand, the jungle bird, and the carthusian monokini.

Five stars all around, for drink, food, and service. We are in Anchorage for a conference. We have been eating some excellent food, but have unfortunately been forced to wait in very, very long lines. Subzero rescued us. The vibe is very laid-back. They have excellent tunes. Mostly high top tables and bar seating but a few low couches. We wandered in around 6 PM and the bartender was also the server. He was a very nice, tall, burly man with a huge beard. He brought us water right away, and had excellent suggestions for food, since this place is sharing the kitchen with flattop pizza next-door. We opted for the pepperoni rolls, a small (but insanely delicious and generously portioned) pizza with the works, and husband got a craft cocktail while I had a refreshing iced tea. Those pepperoni things are delicious. They are made with fresh pizza dough. The sleeping lady salad was delicious. Champagne vinaigrette with strawberries? And colorful crunchy vegetables and avocado? I love a well-crafted salad, I was really pleased. The dressing is light. The ingredients are fresh. You can expect a happy tummy/full and healthy BM the next morning. That pizza was delicious, very shareable between two people. Fresh pizza dough, not too much sauce, generous toppings. We got the fairly traditional works pizza, with pepperoni, olives, onions, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, garlic. It was a party in my mouth. The bartender/server is so skilled. I was watching him make his drinks. I love that he studs orange peels with clove! Craft cocktails take a lot of time and patience and skill and he is meticulous. Husband was very, very pleased with his drink, a Wu Xiang ANTFW. It was a nice take on an old-fashioned, made super sexy with Chinese 5 spice. Husband is a craft drink lover. This was a winner. They have some delightfully cool sounding experimental cocktails. This is a gorgeous place. We will be back.
