“I ordered dinner to be delivered tonight from South through Door Dash. I ordered Montecristo, and a Caesar salad with fried chicken on the side. The restaurant had to call me because they don’t offer a Montecristo. It was just a bug with the new system because they just started using DoorDash this week. So I opted for a bacon cheeseburger. Jason the FOH Manager was awesome and quick to remedy the situation. The burger was delicious. Juicy, still warm, melty cheese, bacon, perfectly toasted bun.The side of fries was crispy.I meant to eat the fried boneless chicken breast cut up on top of my Caesar salad. I tried a bite of it and then I ate it with my hands. Like the classy girl I am.I got two little plastic ramekins with Caesar dressing, and I dumped them out on top of my salad and closed the takeout box. I did a little shaking. It was a fantastic Caesar salad. Zero complaints. I mean, maybe it would’ve been better with the chicken breast on top of it, but it still was amazing. I know everybody thinks a Caesar salad is easy, but it’s not. Everything has to be just right. This is my first time dining at South since I moved back to the great state of Alaska. It was a big hit. I enjoyed it.I’m gonna have to dine in person and get a Montecristo another time.I didn’t take any photos because I was busy eating. Which says a lot actually.“

“Food is predictably creative and fun, but the real joy is in the cocktail menu. With the competition from Whiskey & Ramen, Spenard Roadhouse, and Crush, local bars have stepped up their game and T61 certainly will not be left behind. Great tequilas and mezcal, creatively poured and perfectly presented! Don't believe me? Order a Sneaky Pete without checking reading the menu for spoilers.“

“Depending on where you live, prices in Alaska are a bit higher than most places. The prices here are a solid $$ for Alaska, but probably a $$+1/2 in most places (like Michigan). The cheapest menu items are burger & fries or fish & chips, both $19 a plate. I'm sure the salmon and steak would have been great, but I didn't feel like dropping north of $30 on my first day in town. It's Alaska, where fresh fish abound, so the choice was obvious. While most fried fish in restaurants is frozen, the fish here tasted fresh. The cod was sweet and flavorful, and the coating was crispy and tasted light. I know it was fried, so I'm not delusional about the health value. But, it was excellent. The chips tasted freshly made, like the potatoes were cut just before dropping in the fryer. Tasty. The Alaskan beer I had cost a reasonable $7, and the mixed drinks were STRONG. Plus, the service was great, with the food arriving quickly and hot, plus the server was wonderful. So, why not 5 stars? There are times when a venue is hot in a good way. Territory was hot in a bad way, as in something like 80 degrees F. I'm guessing they're saving money with rising energy prices, plus the sun was shining through nearby windows, heating up the whole place. I'd guess there aren't many times this is a problem in Anchorage, but it was today. Still, assuming the temperature cooperates, I would definitely come back here again.“
