We came here for our anniversary dinner on a Saturday evening. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but was completely full by the time we left around 6:30 pm. It's a hidden gem right in the heart of downtown and a great spot to enjoywan amazing meal. The menu offers vegetarian and vegan options as well as substitutions. We started off with garlic cilantro house fries. The serving was extremely generous for two people and it was delicious with a ton of fresh minced garlic! My husband ordered the 14oz Bootlegger NY Strip. Although he asked for rare and was brought a medium strip, he still thoroughly enjoyed it. The dish itself was very colorful and came with a variety of purees, seasonal vegetables, and house mashed potatoes. I ordered the Vegan Israeli Risotto: israeli garbanzo beans, seasonal vegetables, deep fried oyster mushroom, and seasonal purees (beet, carrot, and pea). It was huge, extremely flavorful, and I absolutely finished the whole thing! Their service was fast and the staff extremely friendly and attentive. Overall an absolutely fantastic experience and we will definitely be coming back!

Came with my 11 year old son for dinner. The food was exceptional. The ambiance was very good with quick and friendly service. My son was bummed it was freshly brewed root beer, as he is on a mission to find the best in the world. ?Great experience. We will be back!

Small | Price | wild salmon Small - right away the major issue I saw this that the location is pretty small. There is only about 50 seats in the entire restaurant. Therefore, it is important for you to have a reservation during peak hours. However it isn't noisy which is a plus. I had dinner with a friend and her husband and we were able to have a nice conversation. Price - the price point is relatively higher than others in anchorage. The food quality to price ratio is pretty good however. So, it is worth the 10-15% higher price point. The meals aren't large but they are filling if you have a standard appetite. Wild Salmon - I had the wild salmon special. It was delicious. It came with season veggies and was delivered on top of a mash potato bed. It was a 10-12 ounce piece of salmon which essentially seasoned to perfection. Would highly recommend. Pro tip: there is a good amount of street parking and a public parking lot within 1 block of the location. Therefore, you don't need to add time to your travel schedule. Pro tip: they have 24 beers on tap that are local and rotate. Therefore, it's a nice spot to try out multiple local beers. Pro tip: they have beer and mimosa flights. So, you can sample a bunch of items on their menu for a relatively low cost.

I love their mimosa flights, pork belly appetizer and arctic cioppino.

Terrible service. Stood at the front for 10 min waiting to be greeted and no one approached. Made eye contact with a server and nothing. What’s the point of having a podium if you don’t know how to use it?

Didn't eat here so can'tcommentonthefood. Just needed a chill spot to grab a beer while waiting for a friend. You have to download an app for the tap list which was ok but rather annoying. The server was trying to push margaritas and mimosa flights...my idea of a taproom is just that! Taps only! Service was ok...nothing spectacular and the ambiance was just ok.The host at the front wasn't very friendly or welcoming. Overall it was an ok pit stop.

Enjoyed the food. Has the Tent City burger with bacon. Be warned that the bacon here has HEAT! It is a double patty burger though the menu doesn’t say that.Fries with truffles were very good. Not sure if it’s the duck fat fry or not. Personally, truffle topping is not my thing so I will skip that next time.Small Caesar salad was about $13 and fresh. As fresh as fresh can be in Alaska.

Late night hunger satisfied with a call in order right before they closed! So gracious in taking my order without hesitation! Literally arrived to pickup my burger and fries before closing! Nice looking bar in downtown! Smelled the delicious, juicy cheese burger and garlic/cilantro duck fat fries! Yep smelled delicious and was right on the money! Them fries had most unique tastes.. real fries.. with plenty of flavor! Thanks for being so good especially when your late night craving is specific!

I have a LOT of thoughts on our experience at Tent City Taphouse - even though we didn't try too many food items. If it weren't for our plans to hit a few more eateries, we would have just hung out all day and sampled more. We'll start with the location. Perfectly situated in the "city" in North Anchorage, we had no issues finding the location. It's attached to the back side of the 5th Ave mall, which was perfect for our day trip (we were visiting from Kodiak and were walking all day). It's quaint inside, but has ample seating including quite a few bar seats. Fun brewery vibe, all in all we liked the ambiance. We were immediately seated and greeted by the friendly staff, who answered our questions about beer choices and food alike. First round I had a hazy IPA, and my husband got a raspberry sour, we both loved them. Second round I stuck with the IPA, and he opted for a fun flight. Now onto food - the real star of this review. We only two items, both were phenomenal. We started with the cilantro garlic fries. These were perfect for what they are, and the cilantro gave a nice unique pop. But the Arctic Cioppino was out of this world!!! It was so flavorful, and unlike any dish I had before. Most definitely one of the best dishes I've had when visiting Anchorage, and we hop over a lot (mainly to eat and drink our way thru the town, we're foodies and definitely appreciate good food). There were chunks of perfectly cooked seafood, and thick and creamy broth, pita on the side, and a delightful bright side salad with their house dressing. 10/10! We will be back! Thanks to our server Adam for steering us in the right direction, and and being overall an attentive server. Five stars guys, we can't wait to try more!

This may be our new favorite go-to restaurant for Friday Friends night! The place is inviting, clean, comfortable temperature, and delicious! Our party of six was seated pretty quickly, our server was awesome, and the food! The food was amazing! The appetizers were hot and fresh, nicely plated, and worth every penny.

don't rely on making a reservation online. They are too busy (or something else) to check their computer and will not honor an online reservation. And then the host will seemingly make up a lame excuse about it.

Love the mimosa flight and vibes of this place!

Quick service. The chipotle chicken cobb salad was just okay but the duck fat garlic fries are great!

Best hummus platter I've ever had. Definitely worth the money! I've come to this bar 4 times in 2 days. Beers are amazing. 10/10 definitely recommend.
