I stayed here last weekend and was so grateful and thankful to have a clean room, very friendly staff and it brought back 20 years of memories staying here with my kids when rafting and fishing in Cooper Landing! I love that it is open year round!I enjoyed moco loco for breakfast too!Rooms: Great spacious clean room!Nearby activities: The river and hiking out the door!Food & drinks: Great moco loco for breakfast and good times in the bar!

We were greeted by a really warm and friendly staff who were quick to let us know their selections of the day. We were skeptical but had to try halibut. They told us that they have fresh caught ones and can do a halibut burger quickly . I must say it was one of the most delicious fish Ive had, so soft, lighlt spiced and done! Tldr During my travels in Alaska, i had the chance to stay in cooper's landing. Its a pristine area with stunning lake, views and even moose sightings. Only on my last day did i take a chance to visit Sunrise Inn. Though we originally planned to do have the breakfast there, we had reached late and it was time for lunch..Im reminded of one of the staff who was a native of Kodiak Island and insisted that if at all, we planned to travel to kodiak, we should consult her :) . Hopefully that comes true one dayTill then.. cheers!

I recently stayed a night and was disappointed with both the room and restaurant. My first mistake was neglecting to turn on the TV before unpacking, not all rooms have a working set. Why when the place was empty would they rent a room void of a working TV to anyone was my question, it remains unanswered.The attitude in the restaurant has changed starting with a particular tall bearded cook through the waitresses. Thankfully there are alternatives, perhaps management should become more aware of what is their business.

My company has been paying for me to stay here while working on the Sterling highway and THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE ROOMS! the floors are disgusting and not vacuumed! the bathroom sink isn't cleaned from the previous user! i am so glad this is my last night. I thought it was just one but the fact that I drive home on the weekends and come back on Mondays and put in a different room that was obviously used by someone so effing gross

I used to love this place. I would come rent a room for the weekend to float the river or swing by during day trips for a after fishing meal. Everything from the food and service to the cleanliness used to be amazing. Not sure if the ownership has changed or what but my latest experience there was not great. Plain rude service and the food wasn't great. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.

This review is for the diner only.This place is a rustic roadside diner. Very unfancy but clean. The service, one waitress for few diners, was very good - prompt and friendly. There are many items on the menu but judging from the orders placed by locals and seeing the meals delivered, breakfast is the way to go. We went for lunch. A burger for my wife and an Adult Grilled Cheese for me. The burger and grilled cheese were somewhere between meh and yuck. The sweet potato fries and onion rings were yuck or worse. They need to change the oil in their deep fryer more often. Avoid the deep fryer. Go for breakfast items.

We used to come here years ago, for pie. Their blueberry was amazing. They used to have different salt and pepper pots on each table. Then some new owners took over, and i was served limp and floppy fries and we didn't go back. Although of course I appreciate they may have had teething problems, as new owners, and that we'd go back at a later date. And we did return today.Our server was friendly, and helpful, brought us coffee, in sturdy Sunrise Inn mugs, and took our order (Crispy Chicken wrap and fries for me, Chili in Bread bowl for him) The atmosphere was warm and friendly, with quite a few diners in, chatting to the server. Guys, the Crispy Chicken Wrap brought to me, was simply outstanding. Perfect in every way. Great mix of crunchy vegetables, cheese, and creamy ranch, i cannot praise it enough. It's the best I've personally tasted, in, well, ever really. And the fries have redeemed themselves 1000%. Super crisp, and soft inside, beautifully seasoned. I am so happy that Sunrise Inn is THIS good. I'll be driving back down just to have this again, and think nothing of the drive. Blake really enjoyed his Chili Bread Bowl too. Seriously, if i can get food this good i don't really care about the cost, or the length of the drive to get to it. But yes of course it would be more convenient if it were in Anchorage, but the drive is half the fun. Also the staff - the server was great, very friendly, and the chef brought out our meals to us, and he had these pants on featuring fish. Very alluring, and I told him so. We'll be back sooner rather than later

Room had very stuffy smell.Bathroom had mold/mildew growth on ceiling , walls , in shower. No exhaust fan!Heater smelled whenever turning on, yuck!Bed was ok, sheets were like new but felt like plastic.Wi-Fi worked well.Scenery is wonderful. Saw mountain goats/sheep and bear on mountain across highway with binoculars. Nearby lake and campground is a nice walk.
