RACIST RUDE UNPROFESSIONALI am here waiting in the lobby for 45 minutes for my turn to be seated. There is neither reservations nor any waitlist. Everybody waiting in the lobby for their turn is operating by an honour system. You walk in you know who was there before you.Just when it’s my turn to be seated after a good near one hour, the staff member comes in and asks the 3rd one ( only white couple) in line to be seated. Everyone is confused. When asked he bluntly says, the owner told me so..Wait . WHY??This decision, confusingly justified by staff as per the owner’s instructions, appeared to have no basis other than racial preference, which is deeply concerning.Despite the fact that the couple, who were White, graciously acknowledged that it was not their turn and suggested I be seated instead, the staff insisted on seating them first. Only logical conclusion is that a preference given to a white couple in a room full of Indians was a clear case of RACISM.The owner was quickly involved in this heated discussion and he was rude and dismissive. He doesn’t care, lies and asks us to GET OUT!!!I appreciate so much all the people who were in the lobby waiting and who witnessed this episode and decided to walk out with me.It’s disheartening to encounter such blatant discriminations, especially at an Indian restaurant where one would hope to find a sense of community and belonging. All to say, don’t go here. This is unacceptable.

I too witnessed an act of injustice, where Indian couple were not treated fairly. That Indian couple were waiting patiently for their turn for a quite a long time. They were passed over for another couple. When they question the manager/owner, he yelled at them and chased them out from restaurant.I was deeply disturbed by how they were treated and unjustly yelled at.And also not happy with how they treat people here.

Horrible. Completely racist. We got uncooked food and we opted for a chefs favorite. The owner’s extreme racism and rudeness towards Indians is profoundly ironic. Despite an Indian couple waiting in line for over an hour, the owner chose to seat white (non-Indian) customers instead. When the couple expressed their concerns about the racist treatment, they were forced to leave the restaurant. Such behavior is deeply disturbing.

I witnessed clear act of RACISM in this restaurant today. An Indian couple were first in line waiting to be seated and when the turn came the waiter allowed a white couple (who were actually 3rd in line) to be seated first instead of the Indian couple who have been waiting for more than 30-40 minutes and supposed to be seated first. When questioned about this the waiter and owner didn’t have an answer. I will never ever go to this restaurant again.

Any indian reading this review should AVOID!! going to this place.I witnessed a clear act of RACISM by the owner of this restaurant on 29th March 2024. There were 2 groups waiting to be seated and all of us waiting for about half n hour - 45 minutes. Then when the turn came in to be seated, the waiter clearly and boldly told that his owner has asked to seat other American couple first instead of the 2 groups waiting. When asked by fellow people at restaurant and that group who was rejected, he asked the indian couple to leave.

Visiting an Indian restaurant in fairbanks seemed a bit of stretch initially, but boy, I was amazed by the food at this restaurant. I got a thali and few other non-veg dishes, and all of it was just amazing. The standout was the fact that everything was cooked from scratch, and the taste and flavors were authentic. I couldn't have imagined getting so good indian food in such a remote location. In case you are in the area and appreciate a good homly cooked indian meal this is the place you should definitely try. Highly recommend!!!P.S. sad to see why this place is low 4 stars. It should be a 5 star reviewed restaurant with the quality of food they serve in such a remote part of the planet. Salud? to the chef(owner) and thanks for serving such a great meal.

Excellent food. Wonderful service! And we even got to speak with the chef. We have not had Indian food often but when we did it was authentic at someone's house not in a restaurant. This was home cooked yumminess. Thank you.

Decent food. Nothing that rocks my world. Had Tikka Masala. It was ok. Not as spicy as I had hoped and asked for and the dish lacked salt and some acid. Not the best I’ve ever had but “Fairbanks good.”Service was good and the Naan was pretty good. Very pricey… but isn’t in Alaska?

My husband & I loved dining here. His favorite was always the Thali Platter. I highly recommend their delicious chicken & ginger soup, perfect for a cold day. My other favorites are the vegetable korma & garlic naan. I love the chai and mango lassi too; I could seriously go here for just drinks because they’re so tasty. The service & hospitality we receive from the owner & a favorite server who always remembers us makes it that much better. It’s not often you find businesses with both delicious food and such kind-hearted owners, but Hari Om shines in both areas. I highly recommend this as a Fairbanks gem.

We loved this restaurant, and the food, we visited twice during our trip to Fairbanks. The owner, who is also the main chef takes active part in the kitchen and the food comes out to be excellent. The Palak Panner that we had in this place remain unmatched in our entire life, and it is the best that we have tasted. The service is excellent and warm. It is on the pricier side, but worth every dollar that we spent. I will definitely go there again. One note for visitors: Please call ahead to see if the restaurant is open, as the owner once year takes his vacation and closes the restaurant while he is travelling.Even though this is the only Indian Restaurant in Fairbanks now, it is worth every cent.World's northern most Indian restaurant!!!Vegetarian options: Only fresh vegetables are used, and hence the food comes out very tasty.
