Not sure why Lavelle’s gets such good reviews. It has a lively bar atmosphere but the food is basically slightly elevated bar/diner food. Very mediocre and not worth the price. The calamari was weird (like fried calamari sticks) and not like traditional fried calamari. The 7” pizza was too thick and doughy, and my medium-rare filet was overcooked and barely warm (I think it had been sitting out awhile waiting to be served.) Though it was tasty. My cosmo (ordered light on the cranberry and light on the lime) came out too pink and too limey. It did not taste like a cosmo. It took a long time for entrees to come out. It was just two of us and it probably took at least 45 minutes to get our main meal (my son ordered 2 appetizers as his main meal and I ordered the filet).Lavelle’s is an option in town for dinner but it is far from fine dining and is overpriced for the quality you get. I’m sure there are better places in Fairbanks to get a steak that cost less.

Honestly, the best meal we had during our time in Fairbanks and we had a LOT of good meals. We got lucky and got in without a reservation, but knowing what I do now, I would make a reservation if I went back. The food was outstanding. In fact, the crab legs were SO good, that I refused to order them at any other restaurant as there is no way that they could be better. The staff was fantastic and the ambiance very nice. While it was a little pricey, we walked away feeling that it was worth every penny. We told anyone that we spoke with about it while there and several took our advice and went, sharing very similar reactions. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. Best place we went during our week plus in Fairbanks!

Food took over an hour to get and my Tito's dirty martini was $20. Was definitely surprised by that price when my friend's espresso martinis were $13 ?

Me and my husband ate there last night for our wedding anniversary and we were both not impressed. We both ordered simple Caesar salads that came after our main meal. The dressing on the salad was pretty nonexistent. I had the Meatloaf which the taste was good but the temp was room temp and the mashed potato’s that came with were less than warm. My meatloaf also came with broccoli which I only had about four little pieces that went with my meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I would not recommend. We both agreed that we should have went elsewhere due to regret of choosing this place which we both had high hopes for this place considering the special occasionI understand that it gets busy but as a owner you should care about the food and most importantly the temperature of the food that is coming out of the kitchen. The impression I get is that the owners only care about the money and not the customers that spend their hard earned money at their place of Business, and could care less about their customers

The restaurant is a part of Springhill Suites Hotel. I was thrilled by a vast number of menu choices.Halibut fish and chips is good choice. They cut in small pieces. Many good desserts, too.and as usual in Alaska, dishes are in huge portion

Was disappointed with food that didn't match the description on the menu. Steak was cooked correctly but was delivered to the table cold. Wife's halibut was overcooked. Dessert had a cream and booze sauce that was mostly booze. Service was alright, though, didn't check the order for correct food.

We stayed at the hotel attached to Lavelle’s during our honeymoon in Fairbanks and were recommended by a local to eat here; lucky for us because the food was fantastic, so much so that we made a point to return a second time on our last night here in town, for one last taste.

You better call ahead and make reservation otherwise you have to wait for awhile. The food is surprisingly good for a hotel resto. The soup of the day (clam chowder) was good.

We only had cocktail’s here, but it was a good experience. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Must return to try eating here as the rest of our group recommended it!
