“After years of passing by we finally had the chance to enjoy ourselves at Spoonline Bistro. First impressions upon walking in was the cleanliness and artistic charm. We were greeted promptly and sat at our two top. For a Monday at 6pm there was only a few tables seated at the time of entry. The music playing was nice, and the local art for sale on the walls was aesthetically pleasing. Each table had a small bouquet of fresh flowers and a candle. After sitting we were promptly offered menus and a wine list then were poured water. We decided to open with Manila clams and an arugula salad. The clams were a generous portion ample for 2 to share with the plate of toast points. The sauce had a nice balance of lemon/citrus, garlic and wine. The little kicker I was able to pull out of the sauce was minced ginger. It brought another level to the clam dish and I will add this to my own recipe in the future. The Arugula salad again was a dinner sized portion perfect for two to share. Clean, peppery and well balanced with a light vinaigrette and topped with shaved almond and dried blueberries and feta crumble. Delicious! Decided to share a bottle of McBride Sisters sparkling brut rosé. This bottle ended being a great pairing with the flavor profile of our starters. Recommended by our waitress whom was attentive and brought the bottle out in a chiller, popped and poured for us. Decided to go with the charred trumpet mushrooms with a hot fennel chimichurri, roasted new potatoes and carrot purée. This dish was spectacular! On point with all of the best dishes I've had the pleasure to eat when going out. Eye appealing, flavorful and well presented. A dish like this is what inspires me to do more as a home cook. I highly recommend this dish. I did add the fresh Kodiak scallops which were tender, moist and not over cooked. Yum! My queen decided to go with the porcini pasta. A very generous portion of creamy umami mushroom rotini that is comfort to the max! Plenty to take home and enjoy the following day. Over all I would rate this dining experience a 5 though will reserve at a 4 until I come back and check for consistency in service and quality of food. Please note that this establishment does not take reservations unless seating a larger party. I will be back to eat here sooner than later. Definitely worth driving the 1-1/2 hours one way. Yeah. That good. Well done Spoonline Bistro. I'll see you for brunch. Food - 5 Service - 5 Atmosphere - 4“
