We had one night at the Baranof Downtown in Juneau. The hotel was fine for a short stay and well located in Juneau. Staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was tasty. The hotel is in need of upgrading - for example the one tiny elevator groaned loudly when reaching its destination. Juneau is remote and we were fortunate to have solid, historic lodging during high season.
Was not expecting much based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Rooms were small and somewhat outdated but the beds were very comfortable, although really high. Shower pressure was excellent. Breakfast buffet was 21.99 and limited selection. But a simple off the menu was about the same cost. Staff was very nice. Pros: The hotel has a great location. Our room was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The front desk was great and took care of getting me a reservation for dinner and cab to the airport in the morning. I think the front desk gave my dinner reservation request to the concierge so you can ask the concierge service, that is within the hotel, to help you with dinner and excursion reservations.
