Having been stationed in Okinawa for 13 years active duty and 2 years as a government civilian and 2 years in mainland Japan I know how Japanese food should taste. The Okinawan soba had no taste in the broth and the noodles were overcooked. In fact they weren't soba noodles. The gyoza was ok. With regards to the sushi/sashimi the cuts were too thick. The Wasabi wasn't spicy. The katsudon meat had no flavor and the dish wasn't properly cooked. In addition they don't sell alcohol which is a must for sashimi. To top it off our soft drinks didn't come with ice so they were lukewarm.

This place has always been generous. I had the Korean ramen + spicy tuna roll combo and it was only $18. Very quaint atmosphere, yet the acoustics are nice and don't make it feel overwhelming. Give it a try! Mega roll if you're feeling extra hungry!

Food was great got the price. I was full after 1 roll. Husband loved the bento box to get a little bit of everything. Cute little restaurant would recommend.

It was good, a bit pricy and it became a long sit down situation, but it was worth it as long as you have the time! Fancier than I thought it would be from outside appearance

So amazingly delicious! They have so many options for gluten free too with having Celiac Disease it's a godsend. Always great service. They're restaurant is on the smaller side, so there's sometimes a wait, but I promise it's worth it.Best place for sushi in the Valley. For all of Alaska as far as I'm concerned ❤️❤️❤️

I use to eat here a lot. The food used to be good. When I got home about 10 minutes after I picked up my food, it all was terrible. I ended up throwing it all the way and now I’m cooking dinner for my family waste of money. I would skip this place if I were you.

Our first time here today. I had the Teriyaki Chicken Roll. My friend had the Bulgogi Roll. The meat in both rolls was pretty dry (didn’t seem fresh). Very little sauce on either which didn’t help. Though the homemade soy sauce was quite tasty.

My fist time there. service was slow. Sushi was ok at best. I've had better at carrs. The ramen was garbage. I understand not making your own noodles. However I could have made better in my microwave at work.

My go-to sushi place in the valley! Love their fresh sushi. You can see the chef making the sushi at his station. They're the only one in Alaska (that I've checked) to have Inari, which is my favorite. I feel it's a safe bet if you're first trying sushi, as it's just sushi rice in tofu skin. They have no problem adjusting the sushi rolls (my husband doesn't like avocado, but the rolls he likes, all have avocado). Service is great, they're always nice, even if they correct the way you say an item, I personally have no problem with that.
