Went to this place 3/15/2024 to have a good time listening to a live band and eat some good food but when I went to order food I was rudely told they weren't taking any food orders for 10-20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes I walk back up to the bar and waited another 10 minutes to be told they were no longer serving food tonight yet there were other tables constantly ordering food. Not the way to do business for sure. I will never step foot back in this establishment. The entire staff was rude as hell
This place is very good, restaurant food is good and prices are fair. I had the best time playing the cornhole bar game on the back deck. Real friendly atmosphere..Parking: Plenty spaces

Love this place,great food,smashing atmosphere and brilliant service. The young lass working the bar /serving food today was great.Very friendly and completely unflustered even though she was working alone. Sadly never caught her name but can say she's a huge asset to the place! As a visitor to these shores I have to say that it lives up to all the expectations I'd have of an American bar. 10/10 all around.

Friendly staff and decent food but it has the vibe of a good ole' boy bar. A drunk guy tried to pick up my girlfriend when I was sitting right next to her at the bar. Then two other drunk guys argued for the whole time we were there. Girlfriend wanted to leave within 5 minutes. We won't be back.

If you are traveling and search Yelp for a steak restaurant in Athens Alabama, one option is Mac's Sports Bar and Steak. You will see it got four out of five stars. But do not fall for the high rating. This place is horrible at best. Maybe in its prime it may have been good but now it's awful. The atmosphere is dark and unfriendly. There is no vibe at all. The service is lousy. The food is worse! I got a 12 oz. Ribeye medium rare and it had so much cartridge I could not cut it with a knife. I had to pull the cartridge out using my hands. What meat was left was chewy. When I complained to the waiter he literally just stared at me and said "yeah, and what do you want me to do?" He then offered to have a smaller steak prepared as I showed him how much I couldn't eat so I told him no. He then offered to take off the beer I ordered. I accepted. I was not happy. When he brought us the bill. He said nothing and when he picked the bill again he said nothing. No apology and just did not care about our experience. Do not eat here!

It's OK I came in on game day to eat and I spent 35.00 on food in which I got sick because the burger had so much grease and butter on it. The waitress showed up maybe 2 times in almost 3 hours the bartender was awesome he had to come from behind the bar to help with the dinning room. The waitress had a little bit of a attitude and I went to the restroom and came back and all my food and drinks were gone. After 5 minutes of nothing I was offered another drink so I just paid and left.

It was on a Tuesday, when I was bored, about 10:30 am. I live in Athens, and I just got back from a V.A. Appointment. And I was looking for a place to get a Burger and a Beer. But NO Bars are open at 9:00 or even 10:00 am. I looked on Google. It said "Mac's" was open at 10:30 am. So I went there for the first time in 4 years. In 2019 I worked at "Steelcase" factory, here in Athens. A lot of us would go there after work, on Fridays.There were only 3 of us in there, that early, and 2 of them were employees, lol ?.It's a very nice place. GREAT FOOD.They No longer have a pool table, but, they do have a back patio, with tables, chairs, and "Cornhole" games. Fridays and Saturdays , they have Live Vand Entertainment.With KAREOKE on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays.There's a great atmosphere there, very polite workers, bartenders.Prices ate reasonable too.I give this place "4.5 Stars ☆☆☆☆¤"Out of 5.I recommend "Mac's", for a Great Meal, and an Awesome Time !Steve WhiteFormer Steelcase CNC Tech.Athens, 35611.Parking: Lots of available parking in the front and back, of the building.
