This place truly deserves all the accolades it has received over its many decades of operation. Even though we had to wait at least a half hour for a table on an extra busy Saturday night, it was so very worth it! The service was impeccable, but the real star of the Bright Star, is the scrumptious food. From the most delicious stuffed mushroom appetizer, to the freshly made crispy salad, to the fresh baked rolls, to the mouthwatering entrees, everything was culinary perfection! I highly recommend visiting the Bright Star as often as possible. Your reward will be gastronomical!

An Alabama tradition, the restaurant is pure charm and nostalgia. It would be hard to find a more friendly staff anywhere. I was there for lunch and had the gumbo. It was a perfect blend of ingredients with just enough spice to be enjoyable. I finished with a large slice of peanut butter pie that was equally amazing. It was southern home style you can only find in these authentic locations. Well done.

The prices are on the higher end (check online), but the food justifies it. And I'm NOT a big spender. Everyone's food came perfect and we were all filled by the end of the meal. Here's what we had that we loved: steak, salmon, crab claws (fried), fried chicken, grilled chicken, gumbo, and a peach old fashioned. Our waitress (whos name I have sadly forgotten but I wanna say her name is Christy) was fantastic. I wasn't a believer until I went there. If you're on the fence, just go at least once.Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly for us. Talk to your waiter and they'll tell you what is safe and what's not. If they don't know, they'll find someone who does know!
