Cakes by Kim did the cakes for our daughter's wedding in December 2018. She captured what my daughter was looking for so well I cried when I saw the cakes and they weren't even completely decorated yet! Also, the cakes were delicious!! Loved working with Kim. She just made it easy to choose her, and then she hit it out of the park with the design and taste of the cakes. Highly recommend checking out Cakes by Kim!

Unfortunately my fiancé and I canceled our wedding twice. Yep, twice. Kim was pretty acccomdating the first time. She allowed us to apply most of our initial retainer to our second try. When we canceled the second time, I asked her if she could just make a simple birthday cake for the same date in lieu of the wedding cake. I did not ask for anything specific for the birthday cake. Just a cake. She told me my only options were to pay her the rest of the money for the wedding cake and I could do whatever I wanted with it or I could just call it a loss. So she made $550 and did absolutely NOTHING! In my opinion, that was horrible customer service. I believe she does great work. But her customer service is HORRIBLE and I will never recommend her. What really breaks my heart is I thought I had found a lifetime cake baker that would make all the cakes I ever needed for future birthdays, showers, anniversaries, etc. But she really only does weddings so I guess she's not concerned about her customer service unless you are getting married (the most expensive market). I really hate that my experience was a poor one because I heard great things about her. The first time I canceled over 5 months in advance. This time, I canceled 3 months in advance. And I completely understand Kim's plight with possibly not being able to re-book those dates. That's why I did not expect any money back and was willing to accept a cake from her that would have been the equivalent of a $40 cake from Edgar's Bakery in lieu of the $550 I paid her. Any who, I wish her the best and she's probably great to work with as long as you don't have any bumps in the road.
