Very good service, the mussels and fries were delicious, the lemon tart wasn't the best, and the soup was a bit too salty too, but other than that it was a good experience.

Delicious food and wonderful experience. We didn’t have a reservation and waited about 20 minutes to sit at the bar on a Wednesday night at 6pm. For drinks we got the americano and pecan old fashioned. A lot of ice in the drinks but they were delish! For apps we got the salmon tartine and the oefs mayonnaise (basically a soft boiled deviled egg). Cannot recommend the salmon tartine enough! Such fresh salmon and my fiancé was raving about it all night. For dinner we got the duck confit and steak frites! I have to say that is one of the best steaks I’ve had in my life, if I came back I’d get that over and over again. The duck was also delicious, crispy skin and perfectly seasoned vegetables. Ended with the coconut cake and espresso. Delightful meal, we will definitely be back! Thank you Chez Fonfon!

We ordered the trout, salmon (Tuesday special), chicken salad, and quiche. We finished with the Basque cake and Chocolate pot de crème. All the dishes were delicious. The quiche was prepared in a thick and fluffy method that we were not used to, and it is now the best quiche that we have ever experienced. The salmon was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The dishes were all laid out beautifully and the staff were very prompt and professional with collection and silverware/dishware distributions. We had a great experience here and felt as if we were truly experience fine dining - but without the exorbitant price tags of some 'high end' restauraunts.

Visited for my daughter’s birthday. I thought the food was very well prepared and presented. Charcuterie board was slightly disappointing and the fish was very salty. The other dishes were pretty good.

This has quickly become our go-to spot in Birmingham. Great cocktails and wines, the food is outstanding and leagues above nearby fare, and the atmosphere is perfect for anything from a regular date night to anniversaries.

For drinks we had the ginger lemonade and the winter's kiss. They were just okay. For appetizers we had escargot, which I thought lacked salt and my husband wasn't impressed with either, and Coquille St Jacques which was great! We got a baguette with it, but I don't think we really needed it. For dinner I had the trout Amandine, loved it. My husband had the hanger state. He loved it. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent food, service, and ambience. Very tasteful; very French. Not pet friendly, but for some that's a plus.

This was my first visit, but I've been wanting to try FonFon for a while. There is no charge for valet parking (only tips) which was nice. My fiancée and I dined on a Tuesday evening and reservations were definitely needed! We arrived five minutes prior to our reservation and were seated within 10 minutes. Just beware the seating arrangement while waiting for the reservation was limited and felt cramped being next to another table. The atmosphere was classy and cozy but louder than I expected (or wanted). I was sitting right next to my fiancée but we still had to shout to hear each other. The service was great and our waitress was willing to translate and answer any questions. We chose to start with the bread and butter which was enjoyable. The bread was not as crunchy or stiff as most baguettes (which I enjoyed), and the butter was softened nicely allowing for an easy spread. For my main course I went with the infamous burger cooked medium rare with the frites and a side of the roasted squash and fennel. The burger was tasty and seasoned nicely, but it was missing that "wow" factor. After hearing so much about the burger here I was expecting a little bit more and left rather disappointed. However, it was still a good burger. The frites were cooked perfectly and crispy but were rather boring. The roasted vegetables were the best part of my main course. They were delicious, comforting, and cooked to perfection! My fiancée ordered the Tuesday salmon special and enjoyed it. However, the waitress neglected to ask how she wanted the salmon cooked and although it came out medium rare she prefers her food well done so it would have been nice to ask. Overall, the salmon was cooked nicely if you like medium rare salmon and the tapenade was delicious! Finally, we finished with FonFon's famed coconut cake which did not disappoint. This was easily the best cake I've ever had. The interior was moist and didn't crumble, the exterior was crunchy and bursted with coconut flavor, and the vanilla anglaise was a great compliment to the dessert! Overall, I would recommend FonFon if you are looking for a classy but not super fancy night out. This place blends fine dining and a casual atmosphere incredibly well. I wanted to give 5 stars but the underdone salmon, the noise level, and the relatively disappointing burger and frites keeps it at 4 stars. However, I would definitely come back here and look forward to trying a new dish!
