How could I have missed this place on my last trip to Birmingham? I stopped for a quick lunch, which was wonderful, but what really blows your mind are the baked goods. Custom cakes, breads, sweets and seasonal items.

I used to brag on Edgar’s King Cake being better than any back home in Louisiana. But the quality has unfortunately declined. The King Cakes are now flat and dry. Don’t waste your money on one. Buy a thumbprint cookie instead cause it’s the only thing lately hasn’t disappointed from there. Also the cinnamon rolls! But these King Cakes I received were a disgrace. I ordered them fresh and when I picked them up they were flat and looked old. The sugar topping was moist and sticking to the cellophane. Maybe reconsider your packaging method…?. Anyway I didn’t say anything because I was being them that afternoon to the birthday party. I was thinking they don’t look pretty but at least they’ll taste good. Big mistake! HUGE! They were wet and sticky on the outside and dry on the inside. Definitely won’t be bragging on Edgar’s for a while. Very disappointing to say the least. I don’t mind paying more for a King Cake but Edgar’s… you’re not worth it anymore. If you’re looking for a King Cake next year BHAM, just go to Publix or Winn Dixie cause it’ll be cheaper and taste better. And yes I was petty enough to break out the tape measure. ?

I've been here a couple times and it's always good. The workers are sweet and attentive and they have real coffee. The pastries are huge too and very yummy

Unbelievable. The day after Christmas, thought we’d stop in for a little break. No customers here. The servers behind the counter must be the local high school dunces. Couldn’t figure out a refund for the lady in front of me. No hot water for tea. One hot water cup brought to our table, then I had to get up and go ask for the second one. Hated to interrupt the servers walking around snacking and talking behind the counter and not filling my order. Sitting among tables that haven’t been bussed since lunch. I’m outta here. Not coming back here again. Baked goods are only soso; Kinda stale. Doesn’t hold a candle to Savages. Come on Edgars. You can do so much better. This is sad.

The food is awesome! The service is good. The atmosphere is great until they push the cart around and the wheels loudly bounce on the tile.

This place is huge!!!! The assortment was simply enticing. Mane!! The cupcakes were priced reasonably and the taste was even better! I shall return on my next trip here! We bought enough to take back home.

Edgar's Bakery is so nice. I have had their sweets before but had never been in the store. The selection is incredible, they have so many options to choose from. They have lunch and breakfast items too. I saw some cute items for your home and great gifts ideas too. I got the orange roll, a slice of strawberry cake and a white chocolate mocha with almond milk. I am beyond pleased. I will definitely be back. Thanks Edgar's for brightening up my day!

I usually get the strawberry cake or strawberry cupcakes. Today I bought a box of orange rolls and cinnamon rolls in place of a birthday cake. Great place for a morning or daytime meeting to talk unless you need privacy/quiet. Breakfast is good, as well!

I bought a strawberry cake. Very good. I must say, it wasn't it's best, because I've had better. But it wasn't the worst, it was off a ingredient though. This is an awesome place for dessert!!!The service was nice and accommodating.

The Edgar's Bakery at the Colonnade (Acton Road and Interstate 459) is the best in the Birmingham area. They have a great variety of baked items, and they serve breakfast as lunch. Lunch items are sandwiches and soups. Chicken Salad is a specialty. I really like their old fashioned poundcake.

Someone brought Edgar's bakery carrot cupcakes and I just had to go get some for my wife and I. Best cupcake ever.

I loved this place. Great breakfast - cinnamon rolls and egg and cheese tortillas! I was so impressed with the selection of desserts that I had to buy them at breakfast! Go here for sure! I will be back.
