Mixed feelings about this place. First, the service in the breakfast area was outstanding, mainly Connie. She was a doll. Was so helpful and kind. The breakfast was really good quality for buffet type offerings. However, it goes downhill from there. The room wasn't very clean. And I'm not talking the daily swipe that the maids do. I'm talking the baseboards and bathroom, corners of the room, etc. It seemed like the room hadn't been deep cleaned in years. And the pool area was filthy. I don't often leave negative reviews but I hope this can be helpful for the hotel's management. Our feet were grimy and gritty from the layers of dirt around the pool. There was pieces of food, seeds, and some mystery goop. The floor needs a good deep clean scrub and needs daily maintenance. Had the room and pool area been cleaner, this hotel would have some promise. But right now, we'd never come back despite really enjoying the breakfast, and Connie.

Beautiful hotel in the hoover area, staff was amazing and after staying next door for 3 nights this hotel was a refreshing change. Debra at the front desk was able to get us a room after leaving the other hotel and was pleasant and more than willing to help

Everything in our room and the hotel is broken and outdated 30 years. Rust on the doors, shower curtain ripped- phone has been jerked out of the wall so much cords are frayed

Stay was great! Friendly staff! Rooms was comfortable but there was a few minor maintenance issues (sink missing plug, tub plug broken and bathroom cabinet missing a door)

I want to give this a higher rating, but I cannot do so. A lot of things here need to be fixed.PRO:- The staff cannot be friendlier. They are super kind and welcoming! I really liked how proactive they were when I left some things in the room. They were quick to have a FedEx delivery person get the box they packed it in, and then it was shipped quickly to me. I don't even have Hilton Honors status, and I am just a member thus far, but they still gave me a goody bag with snacks and water bottles! (They deserve a better hotel to work at)- The rooms are big and have plenty of space. You get a work area, a comfy couch, two TVs with Netflix and YouTube added on, and a fridge.- The beds are relatively comfortable.- Housekeeping does an amazing job turning down the room.CON:- The free breakfast was not that good, and we took advantage of it for just one day. It was clear that the bacon was overcooked and clumped together in its serving dish, and the sausages were unappetizingly cold. - The coffee maker I had didn't work. A housekeeping manager came to fix it, and she was super prompt and nice, but it stopped working the next morning. Later, it worked again. It was a bit of a rollercoaster.- You need to actively tell them if you want housekeeping, which is not clarified at any juncture, online or in person. How would someone know?- Lots of wear and tear on furniture, and even easier to spot things like the bathroom sink's drain stopper being partially dismembered- Some of the worst water pressure I have ever experienced is in this shower. It was a frustrating experience trying to wash out the shampoo and conditioner, and after doing so, my hair still felt leaden and heavy.- The walls are paper thin and the doors might be made of tissue paper, given how not-soundproof it is. I could hear everything, and not just on the same floor. The floors themselves must be thin, because I heard footsteps and goodness knows what else above me.- Who smokes in a non-smoking hotel? Either my room was near some smokers, or its vents snaked six floors down to the outdoor area where people might have smoked. All I know is that, at a certain point in the night and then past midnight, my own room smelled like cigarettes, and it was nasty. I called and, to their credit, they said they'd have someone look into it and offered to have me switch rooms, but at that point in the evening I didn't want to. Just be aware of cigarette smoke.- Finally, this is a human error kind of thing...but it was disappointing. Before staying there, I called to see which of the 3 types of pedals their Peloton had. They told me they had two bikes and both had shoe cages/SPD clips. My home bike uses delta clips, so I thought that I could bring regular shoes and use their toe cages, easily. I got there and saw two well functioning bikes, but both had only delta clips - not toe cages or the SPD clips described earlier. So I could have brought my own delta-aligned shoes this whole time! And since there was no toe cage on the opposite side of the pedals, which they mentioned, I couldn't use my regular gym shoes at all, and I couldn't use either Peloton as a result.

Great facility for meetings. The location is perfect for the greater Birmingham area. Staff are very helpful and professional. Pros: Ample room to hold meetings and network in the various lounges. Great for high dollar networking, sports drafts, reality tv people, formal dinners and business deals are being made here. Hidden jewel and uppity suburbs nearby. Great TVs in the lounge and excellent breakfast bar. The rooms are good. Cons: the lunch/dinner meals for meetings are pricey for the quality of food served. Great meeting place but the rooms are overpriced.

This was the worst customer service we have ever experienced!! We had a reservation for Saturday and Sunday night for a girls volleyball tournament. Called the hotel the Sunday before we were set to check in to add Friday night. The woman placed us on a brief hold to check availability. She came back and confirmed she had added Friday night to our reservation. Upon checking in late Friday night we were barely greeted by Joy. She proceeded to tell us very rudely that we did NOT have a reservation and they had no availability. We explained that we spoke to someone on Sunday and they confirmed it had been changed adding Friday to our reservation. She immediately started questioning who we talked with… when we said we didn’t know she responded… they always tell you their name when they answer the phone. I never thought in 1 million years I would have to write down the name of the person that made my reservation. I had no idea who it was. Her whole demeanor was very rude and defensive. She finally told us that there was one room available and offered it to us at double the cost of what our other two nights were. We asked to speak to a manager on duty. Another lady stepped up to the desk. I think her name was Maykla. She told us she was the manager on duty and also did nothing to help us. She just stood there while Joy proceeded to speak to us in a very unprofessional manner.. After walking away in tears, because we honestly did not know what we were going to do. my father who was already there came down from his room to try to help with the situation. When we realized we had no other option we rented the room for the night. We were offered no complimentary water, the room obviously was not ready for us. There were no towels in one of the bathrooms. The toilet seat in one of the bathrooms was falling off. There was no shampoo in one of the bathrooms. There was barely any water coming out of one of the bathroom sinks. After the inconvenience of having to switch rooms for the next two nights. We went to the front desk where Adam helped us. He was very pleasant and professional, unlike Joy and the manager of the night before. Our biggest complaint is that we were treated as if we were wrong when we did call the Sunday night before to try to add a day to our reservation and were told it was added. and we feel like it was not our fault that it was not done even after we were told that it was. My suggestion to Embassy suites is to train your employees to be kinder. And have better customer service. When a situation like this occurs you should make it right and not charm double the price regardless of what room you have available.

We love love love this hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet. The bathroom has good water pressure and a fan. The breakfast on weekdays is good and weekends is great. You can have a custom omelet made all week. The staff is always friendly. It's on the pricey side, but we've never had a bad stay!

The location was prime. It’s close to all major shopping and restaurants. The hotel has excellent service from the checkin process to food service. Complimentary breakfast and afternoon reception was excellent.

The two room suites are spacious and very comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The complimentary bar has one of the best bartenders I’ve encountered. D is a great bartender and he makes sure everyone receives just what they ordered. The made to order omelets for breakfast is also a crowd pleaser. We will stay with them again.

We stayed overnight for a nearby family event. The hotel appears to be going thru minor updates (paint, new flooring, some new furniture). Our room had no carpet which was nice for someone who suffers from allergies. It was very clean and nicely appointed. Mattress was comfy and the thermostat was easy to adjust. We experienced a quiet stay and a nice breakfast the next morning.
