Manager is weird.Edit: I have not been back here since this review so I’m not sure if anything has changed, but to answer your question here’s the reason for my 1-star: I only came here to get a slice of Uncle G’s. I got thirsty and went to see what kind of drinks this brewery had. You had 6packs of beer in a fridge, with no signage that you MUST have someone pour your drink into a glass or that the 6packs were to-go only. This isn’t my first brewery and none of the ones I’ve visited have this “law.” I grabbed my beer, paid for it, and sat down to eat my pizza at a table. I kept noticing that one or your workers cleaning kept staring at me and rolling their eyes, then darted back into the building. I was almost done with the beer by the time your manager walked up behind me, knelt down at my table, and sternly told me that what I was doing was illegal and that I needed my beer to be poured into a glass. I apologized and told him I was unaware, he continued to have an attitude so I told him to take the beer and toss it. Then I left.

Swung through Birmingham this last weekend for a getaway and this brewery was exactly what I was looking for. Stopped by a few other breweries that underwhelmed and was set right by my stop here. Everything I tasted was on point, even their sours are excellent, a beer I typically despise. The staff were all super friendly and gave a ton of great recommendations. I'd considering another trip through this city to have more time at this brewery. Excellent frozen cocktails as well. Glad they are open till 10 otherwise I would have missed this jewel.

Visited 8 breweries in Birmingham/surrounding areas and Ghost Train was, by far, the best for several reasons. The beers are great and the staff is even better. They are super friendly and make sure you are taken care of. They also have the most amazing frozen cocktails. Highly recommend the peanut butter cup!

I thought the location of this brewery was cool! Literally right next to train tracks. Therefore, the name ghost train I guess. That's where the interest ended. I stood at the bar for quite a few minutes before speaking to the person washing glasses, who did not give me any further information on where to stand to get a drink. He misunderstood my friends drink, but mine was pretty good. Their "easy mango wheat" pint for $3.30. No photos since virtually nothing was remarkable. No decor that I noticed at all. Perhaps they're not done. It's not cold in Birmingham, too long but when it's cold, and the huge doors get opened and closed from people going to the food truck, you have to run to your car and get your down/heavy winter coat, if you brought one! That was a drawback. Probably just a few located at the table next to the doors to the left. They had a free stand-up comedy event going on in a separate room with clear windows and doors. When I go out again, I'd choose other breweries over this one for sure. Mainly because of the wait. With one bartender it's super fast at Avondale compared to this (2 bartenders). Ambience is high ceilings with ductwork. That's it. No board games or other available that I noticed. Dogs permitted. Loads of picnic tables outside. They did let us reserve tables for an indefinite number of people which was great!

Ghost Train Brewing Company was an extremely nice location. From the beautiful outdoor space to the nice open bar area..it's super comfortable. The bartenders were patient and helpful as they made great recommendations on the drinks and beers. We also tried Uncle Gee's pizza which was Ah-mazing! Please try the pizza and a spiked lemonade! You won't be disappointed!!

Huge space tucked away old trains with tons of space for families or parties. Friendly staff + interesting flavored beer like the blueberry cheesecake.

Great spot, had some really good brews that we both enjoyed, the seating area was nice as well. Back in the alley where it seems to be a bike trail which leads to somewhere that I would love to explore but tap room was awesome and can't go wrong with tasty brews. Definitely check this place out and drink local.

Friendly large brewery. Dogs welcome. Was pretty quiet over all for a Friday night. No band. This was my first visit so maybe I picked a bad time. Love the beer though.

Such a great vibe! Very supportive of live music and accommodating community events.Parking is tight so plan accordingly. But as long as you are aware before hand, you are fine.

Great beer and impressive facility. Plenty of daily specials. Pinball too! Parking is good, road to the facility is some sort of one way but maybe I did it weird. Stopped at a couple breweries today and this was definitely the most impressive one. Will be back!
