Pro tip: their breakfast and lunch is served all day. So you can get a cheeseburger first thing in the morning or a breakfast plate in the afternoon. Don't let the name fool you, the food is just as legit as the donuts.

I went to Heroes for brunch on Sunday and it was great! I ordered the loaded hashbrowns with the chicken sausage, a chocolate doughnut, and an iced vanilla latte. It was a bit on the expensive side, but I really enjoyed the food and the coffee! I definitely think the hashbrowns were with the price because of how filling it was, and the doughnut was a nice added treat. The workers here are always super kind (though I wish they'd fix their BlazerBucks machine since it's always out of service) and the dining area is nice and atmospheric. It's in a very pretty spot by Railroad Park, so the view is pretty as well! As for COVID-19 precautions and sustainability, I saw how frequently the workers cleaned the inside and it seems to be well-maintained. Masking or social distancing procedures don't seem to be in place from what I can tell. If you dine-in, there seems to be very little waste, though I would assume plastic containers and utensils are used for take-out. Overall, I had a really great experience and I think this location is like a hidden gem!

Came in for doughnuts around 8am. There was very little selection and availability, to include the standard glazed doughnuts.This was the first where I've seen a custom doughnut shop have limited selection, availability and creativity.

Don’t bother. You have to pay to park. And then, even though it’s 2 1/2 hours before closing, they have no donuts. Not a single one. The least they could do is put a sign in the window that says don’t bother paying to park and making the effort to come here, we have no donuts.
REALLY hope this was just an off day. I've loved Hero and all their things from day one, but the burger I got a couple days ago was such a disappointment. Bland & tepid...all texture and little flavor. I'll forgive the mealy tomato because it's January, but goodness the rest of it was just... not good. The fries were hot and crispy but no seasoning and a little overcooked to be honest. I'll give them another try, but I truly hope this isn't a trend. :(

I absolutely love this place and everyone in it! Every time I'm in town I eat here. Not only is their food delicious and service amazing but they will also go above and beyond. I was there on a work trip and forgot a few receipts. I called them to see if they could email me those receipts. They had them to me the next day! Thanks for going out of your way to get those for me! It's the small things that make you HEROs.
I'm glad I stopped in to this spot! The folks working were very friendly, there were several options available mid-morning, and it was a cozy spot to enjoy my maple bacon donut! The only thing that could have enhanced my visit would have been a hot tea (but alas, they don't serve it). 5/5 would stop in again if I find myself in Birmingham again!
