So many things... first, to give credit, our server whom I believe is named Hope? Was friendly and remembered everything well! Service is where the one star is from but couldnt makr up for the food :(... now on to the unpleasant... Ambiance music was horrible, a far cry from the fun Nola/LA music we were accustomed to. It was just annoying and on a terrible sound system. Next, the seating was a sloped wood bench that cut into our legs and left us with half-asleep feet by the time we got up. They tried to do a play on a shrimp/fishing boat but it wasn't well-thought out when it comes to comfort. Finally, the food was, in general, poorly seasoned and lackluster. If you've ever had legitimate Cajun food, you'd agree with me, this was not IT!... We were a party of 5 that ordered several appetizers and our own entrees and the feedback was a concensus. JJs needs an overhaul for seasoning and food preparation. Everything was bland and overcooked. Maybe would've been fine if the prices were more in alignment with fast food but it is expensive relative to the quality of the food. My sister had the crab "boil" and they were so dry and unseasoned that she didn't even have to wear gloves! They don't even provide any...My Blackened snapper was not Blackened but instead was more like pan fried. They were even nice enough to recook it (again, service isn't the issue), but it came out cooked the exact same - dry with no seasoning. Po'boy had absolutely no sauce ON the bread, wasn't even buttered/toasted....So again, it's the recipes and cooking methods. I'm sorry (not sorry) but the entire visit was just a major disappointment. I HATE giving poor reviews, but I can't avoid this one. Location has great potential but the food is a struggle

Service was awful. A hair was found in the food and the server said he didn’t think it was a human hair! WTH?

20240327 ? 20% tip was already included in my bill. When I was paying with my credit card, it asked for tip. So I tipped $30 for $140 total, not knowing that 20% tip was included!! ? Good thing Ricardo was great, and with Bidenomics... the extra tip might help Ricardo out. I guess I should check my bills in the future.20240326 so happy this restaurant is dogfriendly. In town for a day and wanted a nice meal with my friend and her family. Ricardo was the best waiter. He was attentive, and very polite and nice. The food was delicious. I really like the stuffed grouper.

Had the fried seafood combo before, this time was just ok. Catfish was good though. Gumbo was good with a hint of spice. A must try is the Hurricane Joe. Delicious drink with the right amount of alcohol; not too strong, not too weak, just right.

This is my second time eating at this establishment and it was, once again, very delicious. The bartender, Hope, was a pleasure. We had the smoked tuna dip as an appetizer and 3 lbs of crawfish as an entree. The tuna dip is inexplicably good. Sooo tasty and a vast amount- definitely worth the money!! The crawfish was good, wish it were hotter but still good. The restaurant gives off an upscale look but truly is laid back. quite baffling in regards to the ambiance. Also didn't care for the "swamp water" drink but that's my own fault for ordering something with that name... Overall, def going to revisit.

Our server was outstanding!!!! The food and service was on point! We had the three sampler option and the crawfish etouffee was incredible!
