This is over priced for less than mediocre food. Maybe they’ve went downhill recently. I will never eat here again there’s too many better options out there.

Made a reservation for my fiancée’s birthday. I made a note on the reservation that it was a birthday celebration. Most nice restaurants will decorate the table or something. Nothing was done in that regard, so that was a little disappointing. More than anything, the atmosphere threw us off. The interior looked old and outdated, along with the design and decor. There were weird shower curtains hanging to separate tables, nasty looking carpet, and a dresser for the host stand. From reviews online and looking at the website, I assumed this restaurant was fine dining. It couldn’t be further from that. None of the food we had was inedible, but it definitely wasn’t amazing. Our cocktails were very very strong and hard to enjoy. Service was okay, the server didn’t greet us for about 15 minutes. We didn’t stay for dessert but definitely regretted spending our time and money here for a birthday celebration.

Ocean is one of my favorite restaurants by far. My husband and I visit here occasionally, the food is always great and the service is as well. Last night my husband surprised me with dinner here with my kids and family for my birthday. The food was great per usual as well as the drinks. However, our main server last night had the worst personality, her attitude was horrible. I can’t remember her name but I would definitely remember her face. My daughter asked about the birthday dessert and she was very snappy with her. For this server to get a 130.00 gratuity she definitely deserve it at all. Other than her nasty attitude and personality everything was great! Just wish we had a better server.

My standards are pretty high when it comes to restaurants and I rarely feel like everything about any place meets my standards. But at Ocean all of my expectations were absolutely exceeded. The atmosphere is wonderful - upscale without feel stuffing. The service was absolutely outstanding. And the food and drinks….literally out of this world. Hands down one of the best experiences we’ve had in a while. It was our first time dining here and it certainly won’t be our last! Easily one of the best restaurants in Birmingham.

It was a Birthday dinner and our first visit since moving down from Nashville.Food: I had the Tuna. The Tuna itself was good but the bed of noodles it sat on was completely tasteless. The drizzle puree was lacking as well.My wife had the Grouper. It was cold and dry. It was not even a decent delivery of Grouper for a mediocre restaurant, much less a high end establishment.Service: The first opportunity came when the server forgot to bring her drink she ordered. The second opportunity came when she forgot to bring my wife's order of truffle fries for her meal. They did make it to the table but it was after the entree was finished.Atmosphere: We were seated in a small booth against the front windows. Our booth was separated from the table next to us by a shower curtain on plastic rings. We were crowed with a large loud table behind us which made me feel like I was intruding on their space although we reserved and were seated first.The good: we had great friends for company to enjoy celebrating with and I was happy to see they offered Caymus wine on their menu.In conclusion: extremely disappointed. Extremely over priced meal with less than mediocre food and service with a cheap decor feel. This is not a case of not meeting expectations, it is a case of not delivering.

Everything was magnificent besides the fact that we made a reservation and still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated. Regardless, I will most certainly go back to this restaurant. The food was delicious. Server was great! ?

I love that you can have a private dining feel without the cost of renting a whole room. The food was fantastic. Our server was wonderful.Parking: You can either find parking in the area and walk or use the valet service. The service is free outside of the tip you give the valet. The valet was awesome. They brought our car quickly.
