We arrived on a Saturday morning just before opening. It turned out there was a giant crowd outside and a sign that stated they'd be opening at 8:15. They opened at 8:20. After waiting so long our experience was less than 1 star. The menu was extremely limited, no pineapple juice, so I ordered the apple juice. It came with no ice & in a paper cup; not a great look or temperature. For my meal I ordered the hash browns & eggs benedict. The ham was so thick and unlike any other(as seen in the photo) , it was so gross I had to remove it. The service was horrid as was the overall food quality. And making customers wait 20 minutes after opening is just beyond ridiculous. I will not be sad to see this establishment close & look forward to a high quality restaurant in its place.

They really do need more help. To wait for 30 minutes to get a seat and another 30 minutes to get food is pretty long. Otherwise they are very friendly and they are trying their best to put out the food as soon as they can. Eggs and bacon was great but the grits were watery and kind of off putting with the purple color.

Went here for breakfast and enjoyed it very much. We had the Pepe Le French Toast and the Biscuits n' Gravy. The French Toast was great with sausage and bacon. There wasn't too much cream cheese between the French Toast but enough so that syrup really isn't needed. The biscuits n' gravy were good but the gravy was somewhat bland. Also, I prefer having sausage bits in my sausage gravy but there was none in this particular type. For some this may be good but for me, it left me a little wanting. Still this was a good atmosphere and good food.

I had my food delivered while I was at work. As I was almost done I found the red pepper still had the sticker on it as pictured below. Everything else was good, but I was through when I saw that.

Great breakfast! If you don't get there early it appeared to get crowded quick. Think they were short-staffed the day we were there, but we really didn't wait long for our food and never felt neglected by our waitress, they were hustling! We'd definitely recommend and if we're ever back in Birmingham we'll eat here again.

Friendly attentive staff, great breakfast, wide choice (including veggie meat offerings), good prices. What's not to like?

Great place for a classic American breakfast with a few twists. The absolute LOVES - fluffy, warm biscuit and the most perfect oatmeal pancakes. Trust me, you won't regret getting these as your sides. My partner also loved the hash basket, which had the perfect combination of potatoes and veggies and he really enjoyed it. The Italian Eggs Benedict was okay. The polenta cake that it came on was underseasoned so it wasn't my favorite.

Come here for unrivaled breakfast food. Their food is superb, you're never disappointed. Great staff too. I always enjoy my experience here. Wish I were eating there now!

Seriously my favorite breakfast place in town. Their bacon is so dang good...I will drive all the way across town to get it! Their coffee is the best I've ever tasted. I love the steak and eggs! Just go!

Didn't mind waiting since it was Father's Day - but several parties on the wait list were crossed off when we had not been seated. The only way we knew is 1 family checked since they has been waiting a long time. This happened to us also - increasing our wait 15-20 minutes. Then it took a very long time to get our meal. Food was just OK. Nice staff. But a 2 hour investment for us

I did not know that oatmeal pancakes are a thing. Now I know, and I know that they are good. I can tell my cardiologist that I'm eating oatmeal. I won't tell him that I'm having syrup with it.

My fiancé and I stopped here on our way down to Montgomery and had a wonderful breakfast experience. I had a grits bowl that was hearty and warm, and the biscuits also were flakey and delicious. Quaint and cute, real charming little place !

Let me start by saying, all I want is a correctly cooked breakfast. Allow me to add, that comes hot from the kitchen. Normal stuff like eggs, meat hash browns, Toast and grits. Nothing special really. Just cooked right and hot. I have been to Over Easy several times in my 37 years in Birmingham. The food has always been ok. Today my wife got a Grits bowl which comes with meat and two eggs. I got Steak and Eggs. My wifes grits were tasteless, needed salt and much more cheese. The bacon in it was horrible and way over cooked. The eggs were way over cooked. The Biscet was dry. She ate three bits and left the rest. My eggs were way over cooked. My steak was Well done when ordered Medium Rare. I ordered Hash browns crispy and they were not even close. The food including the Whole Wheat toast was not warm at all. I ate about the same as my wife, left the steak because it was not good. My goal in my reviews it to eat out, tell my experience, and be honest. If I go to a high end restaurant, my ratings warrant that type of place. If I go fast food, you know what to expect. If you go to a breakfast restaurant some things are a given. Eggs cooked right, meats cooked right no heat lamps and toast hot when you get it. If you order something crispy, that is the way it comes. I did not complain, I paid a 20% tip, I did not make a scene because my wife hates when I send things back. We just paid and left. Very disappointing but it might have been just our order. Not a bad place just hit or miss. Eat well.
