Great food and atmosphere. My husband raved about this place as a bar but it is so much more. The Fennec recently acquired a new Chef and he did not disappoint. We stopped in on a Saturday night and were seated in the Fox Hole Lounge which afforded us the opportunity to hear the live music, pretty good BTW, yet have a conversation. The food was delicious! My husband loved the wings and peppers, I really enjoyed the Winner, Winner chicken dish. Service was great and atmosphere had an old vibe yet was modern in a way.We have been in Birmingham, AL for almost two years and this is was by far the best dining experience we have had. We were so pleased we stopped in for brunch the next day. The Bloody Mary, made with Beckly’s Pickle Vodka (Beckley is a friendly woman who works at the Fennec and who partnered with Redmont Vodka to make a delicious Pickle Vodka ❤️) was so delicious.I have food allergies but the server and kitchen were great and easily accommodated my needs. (Thank you)It is a week later and I am still looking forward to my next visit. ☺️

This place is beautiful, service was good. Great Live Band & delicious cocktails. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because most of food menu was vegetarian. Not a lot of meat options for us carnivores. I ended up just getting a plain Caesar salad.

This was our first time for Brunch at Fennec and it was awesome!! That atmosphere was so festive with the live music (New Orleans vibe). The food was amazing. We ordered the Beignets as an appetizer and the bananas foster sauce was beyond delicious! I ordered the chicken and waffles and the seasonings were so wonderful! My husband ordered the "Whole Nine Yards" and we both cleaned our plates! The servers were so attentive and worked together to make sure everyone had all that they needed. WE LOVED IT!!!!

A high-quality restaurant for service, food, and drinks. The 2 piece talented live band that night was pure entertainment. Beautiful interior decoration and ambience. Will definitely be back again for more!! ? ? ? ? ?

We were seated way off to the corner in a very high traffic area. They seated us next to a couple who had arrived ½ hour before us and the young lady had ordered the same thing as my wife. This would normally not be an issue however we received our food about 15 minutes before them. Also we had to wait an hour and a half to get our meal. The starter arrived with our meal and we were never offered a second drink. Between the floor staff to the kitchen something was terribly wrong. We seen people get up and leave without ever receiving their food. The front of house had approximately 20 to 30 people waiting for a table, some giving up and exiting prior to their nightmare... I wish we would have stayed home. We spent 130.00 dollars to essentially be held hostage waiting for food. From check-in to exiting we were in this establishment for over 3 hours. Shameful to say the least and on Valentines day. What a joke! We make better meals than what we were served on accident. We received some great attention from a busboy. I actually went out of my way to find him and thank him for his help, thanks again kind sir!Dietary restrictions: Was told we could not deviate from the chefs ingredients unless we had an allergy

HOW BRICKTOP SAVED THE DAY!You guys came HIGHLY recommended. Not sure what the problem was on Vday, but our first time experience was severely disappointing. Our reservations were set for 6:30. We arrived at 6:20 and we were seated. The atmosphere was SUPER. Our server greeted us almost immediately. We ordered the 5 course Vday Special and our excitement declined from there starting with my beverage order. But, that was fine. We each were suppose to have bread service and we didn't. Course #2 Kale Salad and Mussels. My salad was actually good. Course #3 Lobster Bisque - NEVER CAME. On course #4, is when our server completely VANISHED. We pulled a random server in. It was now 1hr into our evening when my husband received his order, but my order was wrong. The random server politely showed us on his apparatus that the order was placed correctly, but they gave me someone elses meal. I was asked to please wait while my order came. At this point, I am famished and my husband shares his meal with me. It's 7:38 and my meal has not arrived. We finally get the attention of the greeter. We explain our dilemma, she apologized emphatically, promises to "handle the ticket", serve us our Lobster Bisque and give us free dessert to go. The LB came almost immediately, cold and barely covering the bottom of the enormous white bow it was served in. THAT'S IT, WE'RE DONE. Also, the promised 2-go-desserts never came, We told the greeter as we walked out and it was if she'd never seen us. THE MANAGER NEVER CAME. Thank God we were able to get a 8:00 table at Brick Top. BRICKTOP SAVED OUR VALENTINE DAY!!! Oh, and we saw our initial server on the way out...no explanation, apology or eye contact was made.

We weren't given any explanation as to why we had to wait but we were told by other customers(who were also waiting) that the kitchen staff was having trouble and that orders were “backed up”. They were also out of one the main dishes in for 4 course Valentine Day menu. Aside from the that, the ambience was really nice for a date night & the live music was the cherry on top.
It was Valentine's Day so we expected a little wait even with a reservation, which was for 7:30. We were seated about 9:00. Bar service was bad but table server was good. Special Valentines menu was overpriced. It looks like a pretty cool place to hang out and I think the food and experience is probably good on a regular day. We love the Fennec for Sunday brunch, but Valentine's Day dinner was a disaster. Took 30 minutes to be seated with a reservation and 15 more minutes to have a server visit the table and take drink orders. After another 15 minutes we left having been served nothing.
