I’m in Birmingham for the night and as a vegan - had to check this place out! Needless to say that their food, service, location and aesthetic are all absolutely terrific! I’m so happy I made the decision to try them during this short time that I’m here! 11/10! Special thanks to Ryanne for being so welcoming & kind!! ?

Best vegan chopped sandwich I've ever had. Fries were amazing as well, the vibe is so relaxing and pleasant, I have no notes! Eat here -- your taste buds will thank you.

So good, I had to keep asking if this was really Vegan FOOD!!!!!! Such a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful atmosphere.

Amazing vegan offerings, their classic sandwich is great place to start. I tried sides of their vegan shrimp and vegan wings and both were incredible. sweet staff, definitely feeling the effect of staff shortages, but if you have the patience it's worth every second.

I get it, I do. But Naw. Vegan chicken is not the move for me. The smell and seasoning were on point! The texture is just a bit too far for me. The fries were great! The facility is nicely decorated (to-go orders only though; no dine-in service due to staff shortage per the cashier). The wooden stick was a surprise in the drum but makes sense! $20 for 4 drums, fries and a canned drink was more than expected but I wanted to try it. The staff was very friendly. It was definitely worth trying.

I love the food here, especially the Philly cheesesteak fries! The vegan chicken tenders are great also! They actually look like real chicken tenders! Not only is the food good, the customer service was great as well. I will definitely be grabbing some more food from here whenever I'm back visiting this area.

This was my first time trying any vegan food. I heard very good things about this restaurant so I figured I'd try it out. I ordered fries green tomatoes, a bacon cheeseburger and some Philly cheesesteak fries. The bacon cheeseburger was AMAZING! There was no need to add ketchup! The fried green tomatoes were fried well and the sauce that came with them was similar to a thick ranch sauce. The Philly cheesesteak fries were nothing like pictured on the menu. They were just "alright". I wouldn't order them again. The main reason for the 4 star rating versus the 5 star was not only the fries but there was no dine in seating available (a couple of table could have been placed outside the restaurant. There was plenty of space) and when I asked to use the restroom... I wasn't told that the women's restroom was "Out of Order". Ok... no big deal right? Well I used the men's restroom. Guess what?!? NO TISSUE!Sigh..... my first visit started off rough. I would get another one of those bacon cheeseburgers that I had. But honestly I probably won't return

It was okay. I honestly don't think that it was worth the price and the bacon was even too hard. But the flavor was pretty good I just wish that they have more going on inside of it. The shrimp was seasoned very well yet I'm not sure if I would want to do it again.

Just found out about Underground Vegan recently from a friends Instagram post. The store is located in 5pts south area of Birmingham. Convenient location. There is a nice variety of menu items and I decided to try the Skrimp Po Boy (based on reviews from other Yelp reviews). The shrimp tastes just like shrimp, you wouldn't know its a vegan version. Nice seasoned crust on the shrimp. I absolutely love sweet potato fries and these were tasty ... simple but good. If you're looking for vegan options, check them out.

Snuck in a mid-day date with my beautiful wife and we happened upon Vegan Underground. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. My wife had the BBQ "burger" and I had the Philly "cheesesteak"; both of which were top notch. My wife's birthday is this coming weekend and we're definitely headed back for more great eats!

My only complaint is that the agape's isn't quite accurate to find the location but that's no fault of theirs. The young girl (14) at the counter was very attentive and helpful. We got the pleasure of meeting the owner, who's truly as beautiful inside as she is outside. Must be the healthy eating.... I have to say the vegan cookies and cream shake was so good I thought for a second it wasn't really vegan. No lie. And we all agreed the burger was better than Slutty Vegan and Hip City Veg's. And the chicken sandwich was huge and tasty. I loved the honey mustard sauce. Oh, and that selfie wall and mural gave the place such a lovely vibe. Don't miss out on this vegan gem.

Most fantastic shrimp po boy I have ever had! Huge shrimp, crispy shrimp, flavorful shrimp, po boy packed full of shrimp! Praise Sophia for this place and all that it offers. Highly recommend. And don't forget your soft serve ice cream for after. Keep up the good work, your food is unstoppable!

So disappointing! I was really looking forward to trying this place out, and I was so sad by the end result. I ordered a chicken tender platter, fried green tomatoes appetizer, and a Peach Lemonade. The peach lemonade was great which made me super excited for the meal to come out. Sadly the wait was over 35 minutes, and when my food came out it was very disappointing. The Fried Green Tomatoes were cold and had very little flavor. The chicken tender platter was also an enigma. 2 of the chicken tenders looked completely fine, but the other looked as if it had no breading or was something else entirely. The fries were hot but not very flavorful. The overall experience had me not wanting to ever go back or recommend this place. For $40, there are much better places to go with vegan options
