Update as of 3/27/2024Whoever is answering the phone is STILL as rude and inconsiderate as someone can be. My wife called to make a reservation, was placed on hold for 11 minutes. Hung up and called back, and the girl had forgotten she was on hold. Then just seemed to have an attitude the entire rest of the phone call. Again, great food. But get someone different for the mid day phone answering duty.Look, this place has some of the BEST food in 3 counties. BUT, whoever the woman is they currently have that is answering the phone, needs an attitude adjustment or to simply be replaced. Absolutely zero personal skills, or care to use them. It comes off as rudeness. Even if it is unintentional it is extremely off-putting. This is not a one time occurrence either.

I’m giving this a 5 star review simply because they do not have an option for more than that. Hands down best food in lower Alabama. Between me and the rest of my party I got to try all 3 salads, the pork shank, the scallops, and the teres major dish. Everything I had blew me away. This should be considered a bucket list dining experience for everyone!

Went to Southwood Kitchen for lunch with friends. I Had the hamburger and it was absolutely delicious. My friends had the chicken sandwich and loved it. Highly recommend eating here when in Daphne Al . You cannot go wrong eating here and the Price is very reasonable!

Celebrated my anniversary with my boyfriend and we sat in silence the whole meal. We were sat in a back room with a party of 20+ people coming and going with their party split between both ends of the room. It was so loud we couldn’t even have a proper conversation without feeling like we had to yell at each other. Our server was very blunt and didn’t even care to ask if we were new customers which we were. He was more adamant on helping the big party that kept growing. The food was great and I’m sure it would’ve been better if we could of properly enjoyed our meal.

Stopped by Southwood on a whim. AWas in Daphne looking for something different and saw this. I am so glad we did. Walked in and noticed the place was clean and looked really nice inside. Was asked if we had reservations and said that we didn’t. The hostess said the place is reservation only with one table for walk-ins but they just had a cancellation so we were in luck! Our waiter was fantastic, I wish I knew his name to give him credit but just can’t remember it. So, we looked at the dinner menu and everything sounded sooo good. Waiter told us that if wanted anything not on the menu, such as burgers or fries etc. they would do it. Said they understand it’s our money and we should spend it how we want. I like that philosophy. I really hate restaurants that will not substitute items or allow any changes. The food came out and it was presented well and tasted even better. I had a burger and it was fantastic and the price was more than reasonable, $13 with fries. We also ordered a steak and a pork shank. Everyone was completely pleased with the service and food. Will definitely be back again and again.Kid-friendliness: Was willing to work with the menu for my son.
