“Stopped in here for a quick spell and a bathroom break during a long trip. This coffee shop is super nice.In a budding quiet town, in a place I never heard of, on the way to a place I never been. Sounds like quite an adventure. I would stop in anytime I am local or passing through here and other places. This town looks like it’s fixing to grow independently (bank).Felt safe and accepted in Alabama, pretty cool feeling after such horrible stories and fights in the news. Someone jumped off a boat to swim and fight with people. Good energy here. I hope my post bring more positive energy.The people here don’t look like me but they may love like me. Lame but Im not taking it out. This place is art so go check it out. I took one bathroom pic though. “What a lovely little spot! I mapped myself over to grab a drink for the road a couple of weeks ago. This coffee shop seems pretty out-of-the-way (to me at least -- but I'm not a local so maybe I'm missing something), to the point where I thought maybe my GPS was wrong. But it wasn't, so if you check this place out, have faith in Google maps! Lol. The signage is a little small but I promise it's there! It's near Austin High School and behind a small gas station/mini-mart.There's a spacious parking lot out front and a small patio for nicer days than the day I visited. It was super quiet and cozy inside, and it smelled great! I saw one person working on his laptop, and I'd definitely agree that this is a great place to hunker down and focus. It's mostly a table and chair setup but there's a couch too, iirc.Service was a highlight -- the barista was super kind and bubbly and eager to help with all my questions. She listened to what I liked and provided several excellent recommendations. I can't remember the exact name of the drink I got because I delayed too long between visiting and writing this review, but it was a specialty mocha of some sort, either the Smithy Special or the Beam Bonfire. I'd guess the Smithy Station as I'm not usually super into marshmallow stuff. Whatever I had, it was sweet, smooth, creamy, beautiful, and an appropriate size for the fairly low price. I'd get it again!They have small, typical coffeeshop snacks (think pastries, etc) and change up specials depending on the time of year. I'm in Decatur somewhat often for work, especially during the winter months, and this may be one of my new preferred coffee shops. Thanks for a nice first visit!“

“The kind of donut shop that will leave you speechless. Everything about this place is amazing and I wish more people knew about it. Soft donuts, full of flavor with pigs in a blanket you wouldn't believe. This family deserves every penny they make and then some!“
“Tried Hard Hat café for the first time today from a recommendation posted on FB (never knew this place existed until then) and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The fried fish was the best I've had in years (hot sauce was not needed for that delicious fillet), the yams were cooked to perfection, and nothing went to waste on our plates. All I can say is everything was absolutely on point! Go support this local business you won't be disappointed!!“

“I stop by almost every morning on my way to work to get an iced mocha coffee with shot of espresso and a pig in a blanket. I'm assuming it's the owner who's taught me this coffee with chocolate milk instead of regular is the best. if I'm running late it doesn't even feel right not stopping to get my coffee. great crew, food,, and coffee to start your day with! awesome place to stop at!“
