What's going on? It is closed down again in 2024 for "remodeling". Is that the real reason? When I first saw this location in 2022, it had a fence around the property. At that time, I wasn't sure if it was a new place being build or if it was in repair for major problems such as plumbing... or bugs...who knows. No one could tell me; I had never been in this area before that time. Even so... the few times I've been here, the food was good.... but they didn't want to give you any ketchup for the fries or any sauce for the nuggets. You'd have to practically beg for some ketchup... and they'd give you only one packet. That's enough for 3 French fries. The first time was great... except for no ketchup... the double burger, fries, and onion rings were very filling. The second and third time, the double-burger was super-tiny; it was child-sized. Also, on the last two visits, they were blaring Christian music... it was, literally, PAINFUL... it really was. The burgers were tiny on those visits, so I didn't have to spend too much time being tortured with the awful sound while eating. I didn't finish the fries or onion rings because of the super-loud music and also because of the lack of ketchup.

Look, this place has the best food on the Beltline at the best price. But for the love of god just update your hours when you’re closed. To add to that, what in the hell are you remodeling??

Showed up on a Thursday around Noon, and nobody was home, doors locked, chairs put up. Doesn't seem to be a restaurant operating here.

Decided to go here because of the big selection of shakes. Decided to also get a Cajun chicken sandwich. Oh my goodness this was the best chicken sandwich I've had in a long time. Very moist and flavorful. I also got a couple shakes that were just as good. We tried the fresh banana with pb and the salted Carmel

Walking taco is almost 4 bucks but it’s like buying a bag of chip barely anything on them.

I have to start out saying WOW I came here a few yrs back and it was terrible so bad i called the company and complained and back then the only good thing they had was the shakes well today we got onion rings which was exceptionally amazing crunch fresh clean flavor and then a double cheese burger with the request of grilled onions and that was phenomenal and for sides we got the crunch wrap it had 2 pieces maybe 3 of chicken with this sauce that had a small kick but was great and cheese bites that was the thing i ddnt care for most but i have to say COOK OUT I will be back you guys i dont know if it new owners or better cooks who care about there job but it was really good today keep up the great work

We've seen Cookouts in other cities, but never have tried one. We were in Decatur for the weekend and decided to give it a try. First of all, we got nasty glares and even a head shake from the employees when we approached the door. They all disappeared behind the wall and not one, not two, but three employees one at a time poked their head out, glared at us, then went back to the kitchen. We were about to leave when a sweet older cashier came out to take our order. I ordered the Cookout burger, House style which is with Quesadilla sauce, and a small Cajun fry. My husband ordered chili cheese fries. I usually take pictures of my food but I was so uncomfortable because of the employee glares and then I was shocked at how awful and sad my food looked, pictures were the last thing on my mind. The burger was tiny overall, bun was dry and grainy, beef was thin and dry with a quarter-sized spot of quesadilla sauce, a leaf of lettuce, and one slice of tomato. Also, when I ordered Cajun fries, I was sadly picturing Five Guys' Cajun fries. These are not even close. These are the crinkle cut fries with some Cajun seasoning sprinkled on top. They were room temperature & kind of dry. I usually try to do good reviews, but we were so disappointed and a little annoyed with our first ever visit to a Cookout.

After having to read my order off at the top of my lungs because some high school kid got an attitude and didn’t want to listen, i don’t know if I’ll be going there anymore. If you don’t like your job, quit.
