We came here with some hopes as we had heard good things. We were one of the first tables seated of the day, and some of the staff were behaving as if it were outside of business hours, talking and cursing loudly from the kitchen area. The ambience was fine, but the actual condition of tables and chairs was not just distressed, but damaged: slits, splits and gouges in the padded seats and tables losing their finish. If I had been wearing shorts, my seat would have hurt me. We came at opening, and I used the bathroom right away. The trash was overflowing, and there were random bits of toilet paper on the floor. I informed the manager(?), and he said ok in an unconcerned manner. I did see a female staff member go in soon after, but I don't actually know what she did in there. I ordered coffee which came in a paper cup which also surprised me since this is not a fast food restaurant. Our server Caleb was polite, friendly and efficient. The shrimp and grits I ordered had really good flavor, and the shrimp were a good size. However, although grits are cheap and plentiful, the amount of grits in the serving was pretty paltry. The bbq and veggies offered in the description were also very skimpy. If this dish had not been $18, I would not be complaining. My husband's sandwich, the L&N, had plenty of bacon, but the chicken breast was pounded so thin and overcooked so much, that parts of it resembled the bacon. Somehow a sandwich filled with so many delicious ingredients managed to be completely bland. His side of Brussels sprouts was well cooked but not evenly seasoned. Overall, while the shrimp and grits were tasty, nothing else about the visit would make us come back again. Management may need to step up operational oversight.

We were happy with the atmosphere, food, and service. We ordered the beef tips and shrimp and grits. I wasn't prepared for how spicy the shrimp and grits were, but they were very good nonetheless. Beef tips were good with the sauce and mashed potatoes. We will definitely go back.

We came for dinner and had the best meal. The cheese fritters were different (never had anything like that) but really good. Then we each got a burger - mine came topped with huge Gulf shrimp. It was seasoned well and did not fall apart while eating it. I would highly recommend this place. It is loud with voices intermingling but we didn't mind it, as there were several large groups there. Our server was the bartender and she was very attentive to us. Thanks for a great experience.

The menu at The Railyard is top notch! The wait staff is wonderful, and the atmosphere is great for a fun night out!

This restaurant has been one of our favorites in Decatur for a few years but we were disappointed and angry on our last visit 1/12/24 (Friday night around 5:30 pm). I tried to call the establishment but their voice mailbox was full. We had to sit at the bar to eat our meal because they had "reservations" for about 10 tables that were empty. 8 of those tables remained empty the entire time we were at the restaurant eating at the bar with at least 4 other couples in the same situation. The dining experience is quite different when crowded at a bar. My husbands' beef pasta was quite good but my ahi tuna wharf burger was not up to the usual standards. The kicker and the reason that I am writing is that our slightly disappointing experience turned into a bad review because I left a $15 tip on my credit card but a $30 tip was charged to my card!

We are from Tennessee, Go Vols!!, Anyway Jordan took care of our meals and he was absolutely awesome! The food is top notch and you can't go wrong with the appetizers. We prefer the Ahi Tuna but you also have to try the cheese cutting board and yes they have a name for it but it is also great. The entrance, there are two, will remind you of Cheers, loved that show, but works perfectly. So what would I improve, I would add more speakers for the ambience it does have to be loud just clear when you have a occupancy less than 50% it really helps bring in the dinner relaxation to go along with the awesome food and service! See you all soon!!

the food what great but the employees are trash I told our waitress that the shef made good food and a man by the name of sergio told my and my girl with our 6 mouth old little girl at the table that we do not tip good and when we left he came to the car and was tell me to get some game and I called the store while this was going on and told the ones on the inside what was going on and the told me to tip better next time and hung up the phone

the food is good but Sergio the water is very unprofessional saying a 6,7,8,9 tip when we come is not good enough and then since he was disrespectful he didnt get a tip that night then came out to our car yelling at us so we will not be comi back since he's ungrateful for at least a little not everyone can give 10,20 dollar or higher tips to him!!!!!!!!!!!!

Service was prompt. I had the blackened salmon which was very good, topped it off with their cinnamon cheesecake which was awesome. I highly recommend the RailYard if you are visiting Decatur.

If you're anywhere near Decatur around mealtime, find your way to The Railyard. Great food, great service, cool decor. We had dinner, ordering a burger (The Bruiser), and two sandwiches (The Usual and The L&N Club). I added a side of fried okra. I had the Apple Bread Pudding for dessert. All of it was tasty, light, flavorful, and filling. Nicely done--and not over done. Examples include toasted bread that was buttered but not greasy, the okra seemed fresh and was not a gut-bomb. The bread pudding was not sickly sweet. The portions struck a nice balance between designer minimalism and the obeisity-inducing pile of food. We left pleasantly full. Our server was nice and attentive without being overbearing. He wasn't precious about us needing a few minutes to decide (as in, oh you need another minute, how about I ignore you for 10 minutes). A nicely decorated space with a chill and interesting vibe. The kind of place where friends meet to tell each other important things. Check it out--definitely worth the detour off I-65.

I've never had something here that I didn't enjoy. Their food is always fresh and delicious. The restaurant has a relaxing and inviting vibe, and if anyone ever had enough room to try desert please let me know how those are!

Stopped in while in the middle of a road trip across the south east. This was without a doubt the best meal of my entire trip. My kids also really liked their meals. This place is outstanding.

We had a late lunch and there were only a handful of tables. Food was okay. Skip the "specialty" sides--Brussel sprouts were burnt and otherwise needed seasoning. Fried okra appeared to be the pre-battered frozen variety. Definitely not avalue at $5. The restaurant smells like the grill and you have to wonder if your clothes reek when you leave. Service was lackluster. So overall, it was okay, but I think we're done.
