It's cheaper than the other sushi and hibachi spots in the area. The service was ok. The sushi was ok.

Absolutely Love the sushi and the service. Kyoto has been our go to place in Dothan for Hibachi and Sushi for many years. The Bama Fever with the jalapeno and Sriracha topping was my favorite this evening. Will continue to come here when the craving hits.

Used to be the best place in Alabama for sushi before they expanded the menu. Still good but just not great. I'm probably biased.

I ordered the Titanic, Tsunami and Whatever Rolls. The service was excellent, and the place was clean with nice ambiance. The prices were very reasonable; the rolls were well put together and pretty much held form, but I didn’t find anything spectacular about them that excited my taste panel. In my opinion, there are better options, “Rock N Roll Sushi.” but for the price this place is worth a try. I personally just don’t mind paying more for better quality in fish, rice and more flavor.

It was my first time here, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience. I got Teriyaki chicken which was delicious, juicy, and fresh. The waiter, Lilly, was super nice and helpful as well as Nutchaya. The other workers were equally respectful and polite. If you’re craving quality Asian cuisine, this is the perfect place to go.

TL;DR This New Orleanean was content with the food and felt relaxed. Most impressed by the atmosphere, Kyoto brings something to the table with stiff sushi competition in Dothan, AL. The most immediately striking thing to not about this place is the aesthetic. The open environment and plentiful natural wood makes one feel like one is in a welcoming environment and somewhat soothed. Also note from my pictures the hints at Asian hexagonal architecture. the bar, especially has a nice look and is spacious. I ordered the sushi deluxe combination, and it was good. The additions--miso soup and cucumber salad--were also good. So, the only real issue is the competition of Ooka Sushi, which provides more food for a lower, static price but at the cost of speed and atmosphere. It depends, then, what you are looking for. Is it something more intimate that allows for better customer service or something of a buffet, portions at a good cost, preference?

The food and service is good. Way cheaper than the other sushi and hibachi restaurants in the area. It's never over crowded and they seat you as soon as you walk in.
I come here often and I tried to order meals for my children to go that are 4 and 5 and they wouldn’t let me order them, they said I could only order adult meals. I ordered from mikata on the phone while waiting on my check. What a disappointment.

Wonderful! 1st time visit. 2 recommendations: 1) Everyone shud try the Monkey Brain! 2) If you want more than the yummy Plum Wine - drag a designated driver with you! ?
I had the Angry Wife Roll and the Dragon Roll. Both were very good. I also ordered a spicy tuna hand roll. Unfortunately, this had sat too long and the seaweed wrap had started getting rubbery instead of having that nice crisp crunch that tears easily when you bite into it. Otherwise, the foof and service were excellent. I will definitely go back.

Really nice! Tried sushi for the first time there, and it was pretty good. When I mentioned it was my first time at the place, the ladies helped me a lot with the menu and different foods. Overall I look forward to bringing my family back too!

Food is really good, prices were good. Too bright in there for me though, wish it was a bit dimmer. Only thing I don't like is I've "heard" the owners keep the tips and do not give them to the servers, at this restaurant and the other one across town they own (different name). Outside of that, really good place.

Service was ok. The Sushi was just ok. Small rolls that fell apart. The squid salad was ok. Too expensive for what you get.
