Well... my normal coffee spot was closed. So, adventure we went. Got in around 11:30 on Sunday. When we walked in the staff were on their phones and the greeting was underwhelming and rude. The shop stunk, not like coffee either, it smelt moist. Kinda like wet dog minus the dog. All of that aside, I carried on. The staff were rude, with an overall energy that I was by somehow doing them wrong. The menu prices were also wrong, and I was just pointed to look at a sign that was off to the side and not clear either. It only said minimum $0.50 extra on menu items, which the staff blamed on inflation, and I paid an extra $1.50 for my drink. After I got my coffee I couldn't find the sleeves that were hidden behind stuff and the staff were not helpful, other than saying they were there. The coffee is okay, maybe around 3 or 4 stars. However, the service awarrants a never to return.

Super disappointing. We ordered a dry cappuccino with two shots and got 12 ounces of scalding milk. When we asked for a redo she dumped out half the milk into the sink and handed the cup back to us.The entire place smelled of cleaner and not coffee.

Where do I start? I’ve been to Dakota Coffee a few times over the years when I visit family in the area. Today, service was terrible, coffee wasn’t hot, and we determined never to visit there again, as we were treated extremely rudely by the barista. When I ordered, I specifically asked what is the largest drink you have for hot coffee. The barista stated “it’s on the board,” rather than simply answering the question. I saw, on the board, the large drink is 20oz and proceeded to order my usual hot coffee. I had to repeat my order 2-3 times as she half listened and entered it. When she brought the drink, I noticed the cup was small, and found it to be a 16oz. I went back to the counter explained that I had asked for a 20oz, to which she replied “well, you paid for a 16oz. The computer systems are different and I just don’t know.” I pulled out my receipt which showed she had entered a 16oz and that’s what I paid for, but not what I asked for or ordered. She said she could make another but she’d have to charge me for a 20oz. I replied No, we’ll just take the 16 oz. I sat down to share my coffee with my husband only to find the coffee was barely lukewarm. My husband went to the counter and told the barista the coffee is barely wam. The barista proceeded to be rude saying “I can scorch it for for you or I can make you another one…but I don’t know what you ordered. What did you order? “ Keep in mind this happened in a 10min span, during which she took what seemed like 2 minutes to make our coffee, then went to a table to visit with some boys who had come in apparently to visit with her. I told her she has an attitude and that customers shouldn’t be treated in this manner. She spouted off a bunch of excuses. The bottom line is - my husband and I have nothing to do with the coffee business other than the order we placed. Her job then was to make the drink as ordered. She failed to do her job, then treated us, the customers, terribly. I’ve never been treated so badly by a barista. It is down right shameful. I somewhat blame the owners for not keeping closer tabs on their employees and teaching them how to respectfully provide customer service, and making sure at least two baristas are on duty. My husband asked her to refund us, which she did, and as we were walking out she continued arguing with us and giving us excuses why her service was so bad.

The main point here is about the coffee; it was so smooth but still had the kick you expect from a strong cup of coffee. My husband got a black coffee and I an americano. We also got croissant breakfast sandwiches and a fresh cinnamon roll.We've been to a few of the coffee shops around here and this one takes the cake for the coffee. Too bad it doesn't have the location Boldly Going does.. it would wipe the floor with them.Looking forward to coming back here!

Only reason for the 3 in food was because they were out of several flavors we were wanting while going there. We'll try again though; nice atmosphere, friendly service but a little slow especially being we were the only ones ordering. The server was clearly holding a cell phone conversation out loud as she moved about. It was also a little... disheartening that while she was talking on her phone she was speaking while our items were directly in front of her mouth. Practically -breathing on them- distance.
