“It was our last day in Birmingham and we wanted something good to eat after leaving church. After performing a brunch search on Yelp I stumbled across Biscuit Belly - Hoover and the food pictures alone had me excited to try it out. Finding the location was super simple as it sits in the plaza. As it sits in the plaza there is ample parking which makes it an even better option. Upon walking in, the space is very vibrant and visually appealing. The Biscuit Belly themed artwork is very eye-catching and adds a boutique design feel to the space. The establishment was very clean and they made great use of the space which allows for ample seating. Once you walk in, you grab a menu off the wall and head to the register to place your order. Once your order is placed, if you are choosing to dine-in, you take your number and head to your table. Super quick process with the customer in mind as it allows for the best use of time as it pertains to the overall flow of the order taking. The young man who took my order at the register was very nice. He welcomed me to Biscuit Belly - Hoover with a huge smile and as it was my first time ever, he was patient and offered me some insight into the menu options and helped me make my order selection. Super kudos as I didn’t feel rushed or as if I was being a bother. He allowed my excitement to be excitement as he aided me in my choices. After speaking with him I decided to get, The Boozy Bird - Buttermilk fried chicken breast served with bourbon maple syrup and Praline Mocha - Mocha with caramel, whipped cream and topped with pralines One Word… ASTONISHING!!! The Boozy Bird had the best Buttermilk Fried Breast known to man. The breast was moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The seasoning blend was perfect for the breast and paired well with the coating. Though the chicken was amazing, the Biscuit stole the show. Hear me when I say, the biscuit is a well crafted, southern delicacy that is warm in the middle with a slight crunch on the outside. With the breast in the center the biscuit absorbs the seasoning from the coating and forms a perfect marriage of goodness. Though the marriage is great, the biscuit has the ability to stand on its own and satisfy your soul. Now… even if you don’t like sweet chicken, the Bourbon Maple Syrup brings a level of appreciation to the sandwich. It’s not too sweet, but has just enough sweetness to put you in the mindset of an elegant honey butter blend. Oh my gosh… this biscuit was awesome. The Praline Mocha is like nothing I’ve ever had before. Allow me to paint you a picture. Imagine if Homemade Pralines were layered on top of a caramel ice cream, blended together with a sprinkle of love and care then poured into a cup with whipped cream added to the top. Yep! It’s just like that. Furthermore, the crumbles of Praline on top of the whipped cream add a texture layer to the drink that elevates its goodness as it adds an extra hint of almonds and caramelized sugar to the flavor of the sip that captures the pieces. This is something I need in my life that I didn’t know existed until today. As my family and I enjoyed everything that was on the table before us, the experience was taken to higher heights with the service that was provided. A gentleman was walking around checking on the tables. Come to find out his name is Andrew and he is one of the owners. What makes Andrew so incredible is not only was he walking around to ensure the cleanliness of the restaurant but he was cleaning and engaging with the guests as well. He was very welcoming and inviting. We discussed the items that we all ordered and expressed our appreciation for the chef and those involved with making the food AWESOME. After Andrew shared pleasantries with us he got back to work. To my added pleasure, Andrew came back around on his next walk through and introduced us to Rachel and I love herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. LoL! Rachel is the other owner and was so down to earth and pleasant. She took time to allow us to express our gratitude for the care put into the food. Along with th“
“My boyfriend wanted to celebrate his 21st birthday at BBB, this is his favorite brunch spot and everyone went above and beyond to ensure our experience was the best. Autumn, the bartender, treated my boyfriend to birthday pancakes and was so attentive. Our fantastic waitress, Alyssa, was so patient and kind; her service was outstanding. We had a group of 15, and our dining experience could not have been better; I am so thankful for the service and staff and cannot wait to come back. I never write reviews, but this day deserved a 5-star review; if I could give a 10-star review, I would!“
“I've never gave so many 5*. Breakfast was amazing. The atmosphere the employees everything was top notch. Smiles and laughter from every customer I laid eyes on, that should tell you alot about this restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Coloring page and crayons for kids“
“Amazing customer service, the chorizo was great, and overall was perfect. They gave us coffee and water very quickly while deciding what to order and everyone enjoyed their food, especially those fire roasted tomatoes. Yum! It was so good that, during our 3 day stay in Birmingham, we went twice.“
“We are in from out of town and we’re looking for a good brunch. We enjoyed our food, which came quickly, but the food tasted even better because the service was excellent. The hostess, server, busier, and cook were all friendly. Everyone in the restaurant looked to be enjoying themselves. The coffee was perfect strong. The prices are reasonable and the street parking was free.“
“EXCEPTIONAL!!! I don't think I've ever received service this well at a CHICK FILA!! At one point I forgot I was at Waffle House, I thought i was at Ruth's Chris! I know people don't normally take the time to leave reviews so I HAD TO. These people must be recognized!!!! P.S. the jukebox played all the right tunes!“
“Let's get this bread! I stopped by Alabama Biscuit for the 1st time the other day. Alabama Biscuit has 2 locations, White Oak Dr in Cahaba Heights & Rocky Ridge Rd in Vestavia. I visited the Rocky Ridge location. They serve breakfast & lunch along with coffees, teas & fresh squeezed OJ. Alabama Biscuit's specialty is fresh baked biscuits made from stone-ground sprouted spelt flour & local dairy products. I ordered the Bacon du Jour featuring house apple butter, sliced local apple, conecuh bacon, farm egg, grass-fed cheddar, grain mustard & shaved fennel. The 1st thing I noticed was the lovely presentation. The saying, "you eat with your eyes first", is absolutely correct. It tasted as amazing as it looks..super interesting flavor profile with the saltiness of the conecuh bacon, sweetness from the apple & apple butter, sharpness of the cheddar, creaminess of the egg & mild anise flavor of the fennel. Together it created the perfect harmony for the palate. The grain mustard definitely enhanced it as well. The actual biscuit itself was also extraordinary. Nice & fluffy, but sturdy enough to hold up to all the ingredients. I was pretty impressed by Alabama Biscuit. Service was friendly & helpful. You order at the counter & your meal is brought to you. Relaxed atmosphere. When I posted this place on my story, a few of you reached out to me & recommended the Croque Madame, which I'll definitely have to try next time. I gave up caffeine long ago, but the coffee smelled amazing & I imagine it's excellent. Really glad this place isn't far from home. I'll definitely be back!“
“First time trying Daylight Donuts and was pleasantly surprised. They were fresh and very flavorful - both the donuts and apple fritter. Service was excellent. It's probably a good thing that this place is not closer to my house or I'd be tempted to grab a few donuts from here every day.“
“Cold morning, and the fridge was low, so decided to order breakfast via Doordash. Spotted this and specifically decided to try it because of the salmon croquettes, something that reminds me of my Mom. I must say it was tasty, of course, not as good as Mom's, though. Enjoyed the meal!“
“I love kolaches, so I was extremely excited when I heard this was coming to town. These kolaches are different from the ones I am used to since they are round and a bit smaller. However the variety of options you have to choose from makes me want to keep coming back. I have had quite a few of the different savory choices over several different trips (as tempting as it is to overindulge, I have restrained myself at least somewhat). I personally do not care for the fruit options, if they were filled rather than on top like a danish, I might feel differently. So far I haven't had a savory option that I didn't like but I seem to keep returning to the 'Merica and Chorizo & Egg. The Mac & Cheese and Sausage & Gravy are really good too!If the location was more convenient to my office I would visit more regularly than the occasional swing by for breakfast on the way to work.“
“We have been to some wonderful Maple Street Biscuit Company's all over the country. This one is the best in my book. Why? Because of the staff. The normal Maple Streets are BUSY and normally chaotic. This one has had the beat vibe all morning, while still being busy. There is a gentleman who spoke to me who is an employee who noticed my red mug I like to use instead of drinking out of plastic. There was something about that guy. It's like he knows that Jesus Guy we are so fond of. The lady at the cash register was super sweet also. And the biscuits? A squawking goat made my morning MUCH better today!“
“The "new" Vestavia Waffle House is clean, fast, and expertly run. We got seated pretty quickly, despite the number of families ahead of us. Our order was taken and delivered with speed and accuracy. WH is our after church choice almost every Sunday.“
“Our server was amazing. She reminded me of of the Disney Princess Tiana. She was cool, easy-going, attentive to our needs at our table, but didn't linger or hover. She never left us waiting, either. She made great conversation and was kind, relatable, and hard working. I hate that I can't remember her name, but she tended to our table in the back on Friday morning around 8:15am. She deserves recognition!“
“Astounding service provided by Jubylyn. I could not decide between the Double Blueberry or the New York style. Billy, however, provided an excellent suggestion. Insinuating the combination to be delectable, Billy told me to get the Double Blueberry, but add Cheesecake pieces, and strawberry pieces to it. IT WAS AMAZING. I was so full, I couldn't eat anymore. If it wasn't for Jubylyn's energetic vibe, the energy in the diner wouldn't have been set. Thankyou to the both of you.“
“Great service good food period love the pancake of the month it was tasty and some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had. The tomato basil soup was to die forParking: Lots of availability for parking all within walking distance of the doorKid-friendliness: Great kids menu with lots of optionsWheelchair accessibility: Easy to navigate inside ....the parking lot was level ...Plenty of ramps“
“I came over to waffle house for breakfast with my brother earlier this week. The servers were very kind and we were seated quite fast given the number of people in the restaurant. I didn't notice any precautionary measures for COVID-19, but I did appreciate that the place as a whole was being kept clean. I ordered the Allstar special but substituted my sausage for hashbrowns, and then got a chocolate-chip waffle as the side of my scrambled eggs. We very much enjoyed our meal and will definitely be coming back here for breakfast sometime!“
