Maybe not typical but the beef dish was tender, tasty, and excessively salty. Probably not a regular issue.

Great atmosphere. Lamb chops were cooked well and would have been superb if they weren’t so overly salty.

Parking is a disaster but once inside, you are going to love this place. Incredibly charming. The servers were helpful. The food was very good. I wish this was close to home as I would be a regular. Loved how you can add on.. shrimp, crab etc to your entree. I had the drum and it was delicious. Started with the fried oysters and they were super. Great spot!

From the bread to the black n blue salad to the scallops, they knocked the meal out of the park! The service was superlative and the atmosphere sedate and classy. Finishing it all was their key lime bread pudding again over the top good! Reservations are a must and while pricey the whole meal and attention to detail by the staff made it feel much less so. One of the best in the area IMO!

The restaurant attempted to seat my party in a high traffic area which we refused. We asked to be seated in the main dining room which the receptionist refused. We were advised that if we refused to be seated in the inferior high traffic area the wait would be at least one hour. We reluctantly accepted seating in the high traffic dining area. Needless to say, we did not enjoy the meal and left with a very negative impression of The Wash House restaurant. We used our best manners so as not to cause an uncomfortable situation. The Wash House should remember the customer is always right.

Celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary. We felt rushed. We were asked if we were celebrating an event. However, it was never acknowledged. They were out of our favorite wine. Overall, we felt as though the restaurant/server wanted to quickly turn the table since it was Arts and Crafts weekend. Felix's has much better service with awesome meals.

The ambiance was really nice with the best kids menu's. My children ordered the triple tail fish and a filet and they were delicious. The service and experience were perfect. Highly recommend.

The biggest issue is the lack of parking, which is a nightmare. We ended up parking on the shoulder of the road. Very uneven ground getting to the restaurant and across their gravel parking lot in the dark. I almost fell. Service was a little slow at first, but get better. Food was very good. Price was fair.

Really in three words, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! But, in Yelp legalese, here comes the tale of wonderfulness. I got invited to Washouse by my neighbor. Yes I have good neighbors. They raved about this place. Reservation a must, but you won't regret it. Service is stellar, and I do mean stellar. I actually stopped taking pictures out of embarrassment. (Really)! The Washouse is beautifully situated something that the city of Fairhope really delivers. But, from the bread to the appetizer, to the main course is exquisite. I ordered, the wedge salad, pork chops and collards, followed up with key lime pie bread pudding. All were fantastic.

As always delicious! We had an amazing meal. Paige makes us feel special and we always ask for her! This place is a home run...and a treasure for Fairhope! Shrimpstack! Gumbo! Beef egg rolls! Strawberry salad! House salad! Fish special!!! Key lime bread pudding! Make a reservation now!

A very unique dining experience with a throwback, one of a kind atmosphere. We sat and sat and sat before our waiter came to the table. We saw him pass by several times without saying a "normal", "Hello folks, I'll be over soon to get your order." Instead, we waited at least 5 more like 10 minutes. Mind you, we were a 5pm table, the first seating in the restaurant. He was a good waiter but very robotic. All food and drink were served promptly. Wife had the $43 filet which was over cooked and not great. I had the $36 "bone-in porkchop" that was sliced unlike what was pictured online as a full chop. It had no taste and was chewy. Desert was very good, a KeyLime bread pudding. We may go back for the bar which had a uniqueness too but probably not for a dinner I am sorry to say.

Amazing! Yes, parking can be tedious (we got the last available spot when we pulled in) but so so worth it. From service to drinks to crab cakes (YUM! Must get!) and dinner, it was a wonderful experience. Romantic vibe

Stars are for atmosphere. Service was average Food was almost meh. Shrimp stack was okay, crawfish bisque was so spicy it was close to inedible. Was not told it was spicy until it was served. Almost felt like they accidentally put too much spice in it and served it anyway. The "catch of the day" was Red Snapper. I ordered it Blackened. Was cooked properly, but it was bland. Yes, BLACKENED fish was bland. I never have had blackened fish where I thought "I need some salt and pepper". Given the prices and positioning as a fine dining restaurant, I expected more-better service and properly seasoned food

Food was horrible. Boudin balls and gumbo that were too salty to eat. Bread that was burnt at our table. Bread at everyone else's table looked good. A Moscow mule that was too sour to drink. First time I didn't finish an expensive drink at a restaurant. There have been many bad in the past , but I never left a drop until tonight. Brought up issues with the server but she just wanted to be be reassured it wasn't HER fault. I think they might need a sign saying if you are not a local keep moving. Really really really bad!

We’ve come here before to get the chateaubriand. We made reservations for Valentine’s Day in October to come back.Drove over 1 hour to come eat and when we get here they tell us it’s a set menu and not the normal one. This was never mentioned when we made the reservation or any time between. Very disappointed.
