This is a gem of a place, wish we would have discovered it on our first day of vaca versus our last. I had the avocado toast and my hubby had the Bakehouse bowl, delicious, fresh, coffee delicious and smooth. Visit downtown Fort Payne and stop here for breakfast or lunch, you will be pleased!

I found this unique small restaurant by accident looking for another place, and I'm very happy I did cause it is my favorite restaurant in Fort Payne, AL. Why, you might ask? It's not every day you pull up to a store front with large planters outside the shop windows full of flowers with outside patio seating. I liked the American flag flying outside, too. It reminded me of a cafe in Europe. As I walked in the front door, I immediately noticed modern bright white walls, old molding, and exposed orginal brick block wall bottom half. The jaged drywall with old school bricks was a nice touch to old life to new beginnings for this shop. I also liked the unique lighting with orange light shades that made it pop with the white and tan colors.I loved this place not just for the decor but the food. I had the lemon bundt cake before my meal and liked the sweet but tart taste. The cake was moist, but just the right taste bite by bite. The main course was a breakfast bowl with black beans, potatoes, fresh spinach, sliced avocado, spices, and two eggs over easy. The eggs over easy warm goodness ran down through the different layers was yummy. The spices were perfect with a little bit of heat. Loved it!I also saw they sell great coffee and teas. The beans are from a town in Idaho, and I love to visit.I did talk with the owner, who told me the inspiration for the shop and menu is from different places visited around the world. I knew there was a European vibe from my travels. I haven't made it to Spain yet but one day.The best part of the food is that everything is fresh, not processed, and is very high quality and healthy. The prices were very reasonable, and there were lots of gluten-free options for people like me with an allergy.I didn't get the owners name, but tell her I sent you. This is a must stop if you are here for June Jam , just passing through or live here. It's not every day you find clean, healthy, and gluten-free high-quality mealsDon't take my word for it. Go see for yourself!Dietary restrictions: Gluten allergy

Amazing little spot in Fort Payne. The whole vibe of the place is super cozy including the bathroom. The homemade pastries all looked really good. I wish I could have tried them all. Would definitely recommend stopping in here if you are nearby.

Super helpful!!! I called asking if they make cakes. They don't, but over the phone they gave me detailed directions on how to make a delicious coconut cake, and even told me what isles to find the ingredients on at the local Walmart! They went out of their way to be super helpful and friendly, and I'll never forget it. They saved my daughters birthday! Thank you all!!
Food, coffee and atmosphere are all great!
