One of my all time favorite places to eat. The one in Orange Beach is terrific. I have eaten three times at this location in Guntersville. Last night for my birthday celebration. Looked forward to it all week. While the service was great, for those of us that got the 8 oz ribeye it was terrible. To much , bristle, fat undercooked steak that I have had in a long time. We arrived when they opened and there was no wait. But I will have to rate the food a two. Oh ! And my steak was cold. Maybe it’s the owner of this one in Guntersville trying to save money. Never a disappointment in Irange Beach.Wish my friends hadn’t spent that money on our meal.

4/20/24 we decided to visit for my wife’s birthday. Was told 1 1/2 wait. At the 2hour mark we decided to go somewhere else. Not sure how the food is but the wait isn’t worth it.

HORRIBLE. I am currently sitting here after an hour with zero food, not even bread. Five tables sat at the same time in the same section as the hostess (2) are applying make up right in front of us and just standing there - while the server is running like crazy. It’s 9:00 p.m.Now fried mozzarella was brought to the table, COLD.Still no bread- two of us ordered soup, we just had to cancel it, never delivered.Don’t waist your evening nor money here.

I had a great experience from start to finish. I ordered the 16 oz ribeye with a house salad and baked potato. The steak was excellent, the potato was hot but not overcooked, and the salad and ranch salad dressing was delicious. Also my server was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be returning to Big Mike's!Edit- 03/28/24: I had a 16 oz. ribeye and it was barely Luke warm. It wouldn't even melt the butter that they put on top of it. Also it was somewhat tough. The baked potato wasn't very hot either. I realize that everyone can have an off night however for the prices they charge it should be perfect every time. They charge high end steak house prices so quality control should be top notch. If I wanted to roll the dice on a steak I could have done so for half what I spent. I lowered my 5 stars to 2.One more thing.....the service was good.
Their menu is limited to mostly fried foods and steak. Granted, it is a steak house, but it was difficult to eat clean. We had an appetizer (by 6:40), they were out of approximately half of their appetizers) and we never made it to ordering a meal. It is way overrated for the atmosphere, menu, and quality of food and beverage. Skip it!

Big Mike’s is situated in City Harbor, Guntersville right along the lake where I imagine in the heat of the summer you could find boats filling up every available dock space. We had dinner here on a Saturday night and placed our names on the VERY lengthy waitlist. We waited an hr and half but enjoyed ourselves with a drink at neighboring restaurant. We strolled the dock and enjoyed our drinks while we waited. The menu is very standard steakhouse. We started with the onion straws and they were just okay, we typically don’t order apps but we were very hungry. I probably wouldn’t order them again, they were good tho. Crispy with a yummy spicy ranch to dip them in. I prefer a smaller steak so I wanted to order the 8 ounce rib eye but thankfully our server told us that cut is VERY thin and if you want anything less than medium you will be disappointed. So my husband and I ordered the 16 ounce rib eyes with baked potatoes and we each had a salad. The portions were generous and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Seasoned very well. Our server was very attentive even with how busy they were. We had a lovely dinner and I can’t wait to dine again this summer.
