First the view is amazing. According to the staff they are severely understaffed and it shows. We went for a seafood night buffet and was that there was old soggy fried food. Half of the choices were empty. The servers said more of everything was coming out and that was a pile of over cooked frozen chicken fingers... We spent $84 for chicken fingers. Go somewhere else until they hire more staff.

Very disappointed at the buffet. The quality of food was something you would expect at low end buffet. None was made fresh, pasta had no shrimp, food wasn't replaced when emptied. They started removing deserts at 645. Saw a staff member being in food in grocery bags. For a 26 dollar buffet, I would expect more. The staff was nice, but the kitchen needs help.

Gets pretty busy. But the food is good and it’s really convenient if you’re staying at the lodge.

Well two strikes and you’re out for me. Been coming up here for more than 12 years and just gets worse every year. Went in to eat the catfish and they were not even serving catfish today. Lunch buffet included hamburgers, hotdogs and backed chicken, bake beans BBQ ribs and some others. I have eaten hamburgers and hotdogs from a high school lunch room that tasted better. I ask the waitress why they are not serving catfish for lunch today and she said it’s not on the menu for today. For all the years that I have been coming here they always serve catfish for the lunch buffet. After I get finished with eating my lunch then another lady asked me was I the one asking about the catfish and I said yes. Then she told me that she could go cook some. Told her that it’s a little too late now. I already finished the so call hamburger and hotdog. I will never eat at this restaurant again. I will drive all the way to Fire at the lake restaurant North of Guntersville. I know I can get catfish there anytime I go in to eat.

1. Table for large family reserved but not honored. Family had to split at 3 tables! RIDICULOUS! 2. Plates at buffet were ice cold. 3 Food was warm but NOT hot, so with a cold plate food was COLD within 5 minutes of seating. 4. Coffee was served Luke-warm with a total of 3 packets of 3 kinds of sweetener for a table of 7! OUTRAGEOUSLY SLOW SERVICE. THEY HAVE MICROWAVE OVENS TO REHEAT YOUR FOOD BUT THEY DO NOT TELL YOU ABOUT THAT AT ALL...NOT ONE WORD! tHIS EXTENDED FAMILY WILL NEVER GO TO THIS ICY RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN!

The buffet looked like a tiny catering event. They don’t know what’s being served in advance because the “chef” needs to clean out the kitchen and figure out what expired food he can throw together last minute on the buffet. He should also be told to clean himself up since he’s handling food. He’s dirty and unkept just like his kitchen and dining space.A guest puked in the middle of the dining room and they cleaned it up by smearing it into the carpet with a mop. Nobody knew any ingredients in any of the food. The roasted chicken was raw at the bone and the fried chicken was soggy. They served our drinks in dirty glasses after it took 15 minutes to get them after being seated. This was our first visit and we were told the buffet was $16. They charged us $25 and wouldn’t honor the price they originally told us. This disgusting restaurant needs new management and save yourself a good case of food poisoning by avoiding at all costs!

Starting with the positives first. A beautiful view from the lodge and restaurant. The staff were friendly and were quick to remove dishes and refill drinks. The food was very disappointing. We had family in town and while some in the party love seafood others do not. We came on Friday evening for the buffet because we called ahead and verified that we could also order off the menu during dinner. We arrived after about a 45 minute drive to the restaurant and were told that due to staffing they were only offering the buffet - a shame because the menu looked good. The buffet was not well maintained with many things were almost out, out, or had been sitting for a bit despite it not being extremely busy. As a non seafood eater, I paid $26.99 for an iceberg salad with a couple of chicken tenders. My husband and brother in law who love seafood were extremely disappointed. First and last visit. Would return for the view but not the food.

We have been coming to the lodge for breakfast for over 5 years. It’s always our favorite place for breakfast while camping. This year we were so excited to come, but were sadly disappointed in the changes they have made. The breakfast bar used to have many options so there was something for everyone, and when it was closed due to Covid their made to order menu was delicious, however now there are very few options (and not very good ones). My husband and I left still hungry and disappointed. It’s so sad to see something that used to be the best around turn into something we don’t want to come back to at all.

Although I missed the crab legs the seafood buffet is still spot on on Friday nights. The fried shrimp was hand breaded golden and delicious the fried oysters were awesome as always and everything else was perfect. Plus a beautiful view all for around 30 bucks per person that's not bad considering it's all you can eat seafood and an amazing view

My wife and I were staying in a king suite at Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge. We ordered the Alfredo and shrimp with grits. The sauce on both dishes were thin with the cheese clumped up. We were very disappointed for spending our anniversary here.

The “host” if you can call him that showed up a few minutes after we waited in his basketball gear. Then our “waitress” told us we would have to wait 30-45 minutes if we didn’t want to order the buffet. The food we ordered came out in half the time. Please don’t lie to your guests and be a bit more professional in demeanor.
