This is our "Go To" place for Comfort food, like Mom's cookin. Pork chops with glazed apples are delish, plus their carrot soufflé is very special. I love their big soft rolls. Cabbage, greens and plenty of delish veggies to choose from. I like a B'ham classic dish , Fried Green Tomatoes. Ask for sauce to go with it. Their fried shrimp looks delish and a generous serving. Red velvet or carrot cake cupcakes are ready to go by the door and look very tempting. If you like country cooking with lots of choices straight out of the 1950's, you should try it! Decor is sort of Diner special. Hard working wait staff! Always too full for dessert but they look really good: red velvet cake, strawberry shortcake, etc. Be sure to take Granny there as the authentic dishes from her best days will bring back some memories!!

Should never have eaten here. The smell was absolutely horrible, like a sewage issue. I was in town and wanted to give a local restaurant a shot, and thought it was possibly a temporary issue that couldn't be helped. I ordered gumbo with a side of red beans and rice. The gumbo had good flavor, but I hate fish in my gumbo, and it was full of fish. Also, it had one single shrimp and I couldn't detect any crab. The red beans and rice were inedible. It looked like a glob of white rice and plain red beans poured out of a can with the bean juice. The meal included sausage, but the side had nothing. I took a tiny bite and it tasted sour. When the waitress asked if everything was OK, I let her know the beans were bad. She took them away and then a man (not sure if owner or manager) came to the table to let me know he tried the beans and that there was nothing wrong with them, and they were good. When I received the bill, the side had not been removed from the ticket. My husband's hamburger was bland. Never going back. The staff was not friendly, either. Also, in a whole open restaurant full of empty tables, they seated a group directly beside us, with the tables only a couple inches apart. It was super awkward. It was like dining with strangers.

My mom fell in this restaurant because of a wet floor- she asked for them to reimburse her for her doctor's COPAY only. They refused. Screw this place.

So I had heard about Dale's and finally decided to try it out. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were super nice. We had a very large group and so thankfully they were able to accommodate us and sat us in an "exclusive" room in the back. We were very appreciative of that. Our party ordered various items from the salmon to the chicken tetrazzini to the kids chicken tender meal, etc. The general consensus was the food was just "ok." It lacked major seasoning. Even the sweet tea lacked sugar. Again the food wasn't bad, but be prepared to have to add a lot of salt and pepper. We decided to try Dale's again in the future so this review will be continued at a later time...

So the young man with the Bluetooth in his ear that works the front did it for me. Talk about rude, he is all about the business as he should be, Could you at least make eye contactat some point in the transaction? Not unless that's how it works there. There a ton of items to pick from and most are ok. My food was room temp and there wasn't a crowd. So that's I have to about Dales

Ordered Liver and onions..the liver was totally burnt! The cook knew it was burnt but still put it in my Togo order! What a waist of my money!

Can't say enough good things about Dale's. Large varied menu, yet everything we've tried has been excellent. Efficient friendly staff, spotless inviting inside. A "must go."
