Their service is extremely fast and the tacos were amazing. It was my first time trying tacos de canasta and chicken tinga. I highly recommend this truck. They have a ton of options on their menu to choose from.

I have never been disappointed by this taco truck. I got the steak tacos for the longest time, and I thought they were delicious. Then I decided to try the beef tacos and they were even more delicious. Their meat is always juicy and tender, and any type of food that you get here will be satisfying, even if it's not tacos. This truck recently blew up and I am so happy for the owners because they are very nice people. Food trucks in gas stations generally annoy me because people are rude and don't know how to park correctly, but this is not Taquerias' fault. Five stars!

This Mexican food truck is located in the Chevron parking lot on Highway 150 in Hoover. The menu states "No Ground Beef, No Hard Shells, This Ain't Taco Bell!". A no nonsense menu with typical Mexican style tacos, burritos, and tortas. Pretty much what you would expect from a food truck. I ordered an Asada Torta. It was just okay because pieces of meat were hard to chew grizzle. The lettuce, tomatoes, avocado were a little light, and I prefer the bread to be a little more crunchy. Still convenient location, good service, and a better option than Taco Bell.

Ok so I rarely (almost never) review a place 2x or close together. But Charros deserves it. This may be the best taco truck in The Ham. It is the best Birria in The Ham. PERIOD. The only dissent or argument I would accept would be the Birria that someone's grandma makes in her own kitchen. Fine, I will not fight that nor refute that claim. But I will need to try it, so shoot me the info. Otherwise if God didn't bless you with someone sharing some legit grandma taco magic, this is the place. I spent a year hunting tacos in AL after making a move here, after 12 Mexican restaurants and 8 taco trucks, I have found 2 that make me feel like home. Taqueria Charros and Dos Hermanos. No El Barrio doesn't even make the list. Hate me if you like, but it isn't even in the realm. That place seems like Mexican food made by a guy named Stan or girl named Brittney. Which is not a horrible thing, it just isn't my cup of menudo. I want a large metal pot, with a 70 year old stirring (or her direct recipe) and maybe even a little dirt on the floor. So you can enjoy some American Mexican food in an uppity atmosphere, no judgement from me, I will hammer places like this for the real deal.

Tacos: because it's Tuesday somewhere. I love a good meal from a taqueria about as much as I love a night out at a fancy restaurant. The experience is different, but the level of deliciousness is on par. Since there was SEC football to be watched Saturday night, we were in the mood to hit a taqueria & enjoy the evening at home. I found Taqueria Charros on Yelp. They stood out to me due to their 4.9/5 stars & outstanding reviews. So to Hoover we went.We had to try the tacos, of course. We got an asada & al pastor taco. I'm usually an al pastor kind of gal, but the asada was the star here. Absolutely bursting with flavor & so tender. The reviews I read raved about the asada & I see why. The al pastor was also excellent & very tender...but the asada had a slight edge. I would order both again. We also ordered Huaraches, which I've never had before. It featured cheese, beans, lettuce, avocado, onion, sour cream, cilantro on fried masa dough & I chose cabeza as the meat. Where has this dish been all my life?! Absolutely delightful! The fried masa dough is a bit more thick than a tortilla. It's soft on the inside & nice & crisp on the outside. The cabeza meat was extraordinary. Buttery & savory. This could possibly be my new fav taqueria dish.We also ordered a chicken burrito featuring cheese, beans, rice, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, mushroom, lettuce & cilantro. The chicken was amazing. It packed a tiny bit of heat which was nice. The dishes are served with red & green salsas. The red is pretty hot & was the one I preferred. It was too hot for my wife, but she enjoyed the mild green one.Taqueria Charros is PHENOMENAL! Though this was our 1st visit they're seriously in my top 3 favorite taquerias. Service was very friendly. Absolutely give this place a try. I know we will without a doubt be back soon! 2963 John Hawkins Pkwy, Hoover 35210 Chevron parking lot.
