The tacos are okay but on the expensive side for what you get. I tried this truck twice and got chips and salsa on the side the first time which was okay, and got rice on the side the second time which was not good.

I went to the door and the door was locked all the employees were eating and sitting down ? didn't even acknowledge me . I understand if they are closed for lunch or short staffed have a sign or an employee acknowledge a customer at the least.

The food is great! Tasty! A bit pricey but what isn’t these days.

Tried your truck for the first time yesterday at the sunflower field. LOVED the tacos I had however I was disappointed that you didn’t have any drinks available and we had to go to a different truck for drinks.

Amazing food

We dined at fire and spice for dinner tonight. There were 3 entrees marked on the vegan section of the menu, a quesadilla, nachos and a burrito bowl. I ended up getting the nachos to share with my 2 year old. They were decent but not the best vegan nachos I’ve had. I also asked if any of the starters were vegan but the waiter did not seem to know for sure. He said the fried pickles and fried green tomatoes were probably vegan without the sauces. Would be helpful for wait staff to be more knowledgeable of vegan items, but I was glad to find another restaurant in the area with a few vegan marked items on the menu. Will be trying the quesadilla next time. Update: We have eaten here a few times since but no longer eat here even though it is very close to our house. All the food is just very overly salty and not very good. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-19

AL Mexican Restaurant Reviews S.

Date of visit: 8/12/21 Overall Rating: 3.49/5 Disclaimer: The Fire & Spice Food Truck was not rated on the standard weighted North AL Mexican Restaurant Review (NAMRR) scale due to some of the categories being nonfactors (ambience, service, drinks) and instead received one overall rating. The NAMRR team ate at the Fire & Spice food truck during a mid-week lunch hour which is not our standard reviewing time. I personally only ever eat a Kroger Brand protein bar for weekday lunch so I was excited and unprepared for normal food. The Fire & Spice menu was concise and easy to read from the back of the line which was great. They had tacos, quesadillas, and barbecue sandwiches. The fare was very Tex-Mex and included several BBQ-based options. All the menu items were expensive (~$12-15), but I feel as though overpriced food is to be expected from a food truck. Each taco or quesadilla came with chips and salsa and the barbecue sandwiches came with normal potato chips. My gluten free associate inquired about corn tortillas and was disappointed to find out that they did not have them but that they could put any meal on a bed of corn tortilla chips (as known as nachos). I ordered the Russian Roulette tacos with chicken and my companion ordered the Southwestern Quesadilla. The Russian Roulette Tacos are named due to one of the tacos containing habanero peppers. I couldn't resist ordering them because it sounded fun. We were also with other associates, the most superior of which (AKA my supervisor) ordered a barbecue sandwich while the others ordered the Original Gangster tacos. Despite there being a relatively long line at the truck (~10 people) the food was brought out approximately six minutes after ordering. My immediate impression of the food was that it came with a surprisingly large amount of chips and a verde salsa. The salsa was tangy and slightly spicy with a very smooth consistency which made it difficult to scoop with the chips. I enjoyed the salsa while my companion mourned her preferred red salsa. The Russian Roulette tacos were stuffed with fillings and were very messy. I was disappointed to immediately see a habanero pepper sticking out of the middle taco. It took a lot of the fun away from the meal, but I pretended as though I hadn't seen it and went into that taco with just as enthusiastic of a bite as I would a normal taco. It was very spicy but delicious. I loved the tacos despite the spoiler and would eat them again. My biggest criticism is that the tortillas were soggy and the tacos were much too messy and required many napkins. I stole most of my associate's napkins because it is important when eating spicy food to not mix hand napkins and face napkins. My companion said that the Southwestern Quesadilla had lots of filling and sauce but was a little greasy. She said that despite the greasiness it was well-structured and suited for mobility which is a key factor when ordering from a food truck. Overall, the food was good and very filling but expensive and the tacos were messy. We would eat there again if the food truck was conveniently located to us but would not go out of our way to seek it out. Quotes from our other associates regarding their food include: "It was adequate. The bun was soft. Just like my emotions.", and "The chips were very salty and perfect for my iodine deficiency.", and "Amazing. It had an abundance of pico and was very delicious".
