The Mac and cheese was so creamy and reminded my of grandma’s. The banana pudding….don’t get me started on how fantastic it was! Fast service, incredible

This place drew me in with a BBQ Reuben with brisket then really won me over when it even came with two sides PLUS banana pudding is a side option! The sandwich was large and delicious, great brisket and they didn’t skimp on the meat! Mac and cheese was very good and had those perfect southern crumblies I love. Banana pudding absolutely hit the spot and was clearly well and fresh made.

Went with a group of 5 and the ordering process was smooth and easy. They were happy to make any accommodations that they could with specific requests.My wife and I split the meat sampler plate that came with brisket, pulled pork, and smoked sausage (3 oz of each), a pickle, two pieces of Texas toast and a side of mac & cheese. We added an extra side of lime rice and a side of the brisket chili.The meats were delicious! The brisket was tender and moist. Pulled pork was flavorful. And the sausage had a firm & crisp casing but was still juicy on the inside.The mac & cheese had a hint of spice but was amazing! Creamy and cheesy. Cilantro lime rice was good. The chili was another high point. A couple of tough pieces of brisket but the flavor was great and consistency was perfect.We loved our meal and everyone in our party had great things to say about their food. We will definitely be back and highly suggest it to anyone on the fence.

This is my first time in Alabama, I’m from Philadelphia Pennsylvania on a work trip for the week. I was dying for some really good southern bbq food before heading back to PA. After a quick internet search, I ran into Kar’s Char. The 4.9 stars on Google and the glowing written reviews easily convinced me to give this place a try.I got the pulled pork mac & cheese, and WOW. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!! It was genuinely one of the best bbq meals I have ever had in my life. Even with getting it delivered, it was still warm and it did not affect the quality or tastiness of the dish by any means. Truly, everything about the dish was awesome.The price was super reasonable, the portion was huge, the mac was cheesy and flavorful, the pork was tender, the bbq slightly spicy yet also sweet. Yum!!If I am ever back in the state, you can bet I’ll be getting food from Kar’s Char again!

We got the meat tray and 3 sides. The brisket was so tender it fell apart with a plastic fork! The pulled pork was also delicious and tender and who knew off the shelf sausages could be so tender and flavorful? The potatoe salad was a bit run of the mill. Good, but a little dry ranch in a 5 gallon bucket or replace a bit of mayo with wet ranch would blow it off the charts. If you like really thick, sticky and cheesy, not slimy Mac and cheese then this is your place! You can't go wrong with a banana pudding and the fact the vanilla wafers had been baked a bit made a nice crunch to go with creamy goodness. The star of the show, though, was the collard greens! They were incredibly tender and had pineapple in them so you got a sweet sugar taste before the white pepper melded for a surprisingly sweet Asian type of heat. The sauce for the meat was mediocre and we tried both ways and agreed that the meat spoke for itself without the sauce. My personal preference on the sauce may be a little vinegar for a bit of a bite and I can see that and slaw on a pulled pork sandwich but the brisket would also need to be a sandwich option as well. Both were way up there on the standalone scale. Anything that HAS to have sauce, you won't find it here. We'll definitely be back next time in town to see where they've taken these critiques and to try something different. Great people, great food! Give them a try because you'll be missing out if you don't! I'd give it an overall 9/10 and look forward to a few small tweaks. Thanks for the soul food on what had been an otherwise cold trip!

This is the most slept-on restaurant in Huntsville. Everything I’ve had here has been 10/10. I love the hint of spice in the mac n’ cheese, the Texas pintos are awesome, and the 1/2 pork 1/2 brisket BBQ sandwich was fire. If you want to try something new that will be delicious no matter what you pick - this is the place!! Bonus - there’s tons of fun stuff to go see while you wait! :)
