I have eaten here twice. Pork chops the first time and country fried steak the second time. Food is very mediocre, I have had worse and had better. The steak was very tough and stringy. If I come again I will try the pasta.

Jacksonville could use a good steakhouse. This isn’t it.This really isn’t a steakhouse - they only have three types of steak (unless you count the ‘pork ribeye’ - is that even a thing?) and even those are not very impressive. It’s more like a down-market Applebee’s. The building resembles a poorly-remodeled fast food joint (because it is) with a bare concrete floor and harsh lighting, and the food quality ranges from depressingly ordinary to inedible. I ordered the beef tips, with savory rice and green beans. The meat tasted like chewy cardboard and liver, the green beans were soggy, colorless, and appeared to have been put through a deflavorizer, and the savory rice was obviously from a pre-made packet you might buy in a supermarket (I’d say Uncle Ben’s, but I suspect they went for the much cheaper store brand). Luckily the gravy wasn’t from a packet: it tasted more like the stuff that comes in a jar. My companion ordered a steak, which she said was just okay but way too thin. Nobody walks into a steakhouse looking for ‘just okay’ steak. The accompanying fries were well below average.This place is charging steakhouse prices for what basically is badly-made, flavorless home cooking. We could have spent way less at KT Pho, for example, and would have enjoyed way better food.So if you’re the kind of guy who buys his groceries at a gas station you’ll love this place; however, if you’re looking for an actual steakhouse serving good (or even just edible) food, keep looking.

A great traditional steakhouse. The steak always has a great flavor, and the service is always prompt and friendly. My one small complaint is that the steaks always seem a little undercooked. It's not a deal breaker, though. I highly recommend this restaurant.

What a lovely restaurant. The food was amazing and so yummy. Our steaks were cooked to perfection! The peach cobbler desert was to die for. We will definitely go back time and time again. The service was great as well.

Nice local steakhouse, food was good. We were a bit disappointed, no real ranch salad dressing, and the steak knives we were given to use, were so dull, please invest in some good knives.

Absolutely the best cooked steak I have had from a restaurant in a long time. ? Wish I could leave 5 more stars!! We will be back!! Sweet tea needs a little work lol but maybe I just like mine really sweet. I have heard the this place is pricey. I do not agree. I spent more in Oxford at chain restaurants and the quality doesn't even compare. I won't go to the Oxford steak restaurants again after this experience. Good job Calhoun!! ? Very satisfied customer here
