I took my wife and friends to Casa Ortiz for her birthday! It was a wonderful experience! Great service, made sure our beverages were full, staff always had a smile on their face. And the waitress was very helpful by knowing the menu. OOOPS! We each got something different and we each loved our food! We will be back!
UPDATE: We went again Saturday night between 730 and and 830pm. Food was still fantastic and service was great. We were the only customers in the restaurant. They had hip hop with that fast, repetitious, high energy Latino music playing almost the whole time we were there. It was SO annoying. It's a restaurant, not a night club. I'm all for music for atmosphere but this does more damage than good. I mean, we're in Jemison Alabama! People want to relax while they eat dinner. I spoke ( very nicely) with the manager about it. Dining out is about the whole experience.WOW! So glad we tried Casa Ortiz again! We went when they first opened and it was a disaster all the way around. That's often the case when a new restaurant opens. Thankfully, we gave it another try as it is very local to us. The chips and salsa are good, not great. But the food was fresh and hot and delicious! The menu is quite large and we had a hard time deciding what to order. I got the veggie quesadillas and it was chocked full of fresh vegetables and cheese with a wonderful sauce. My husband's California burrito was big enough for three people! My Mexican restaurants have to have a good margarita and this one does. Love it! Give it a try, or another try if you went when they first opened. The food is now five stars!

Simply amazing! The food has great quality and was inexpensive, the server was very nice and helpful, also I was allowed to sample an agua Fresca I've never tried before before buying it! The agua Fresca turned out amazing . I will favorite this restaurant

I've been getting take out from this restaurant almost every week since they opened and the first few times were pretty good. Since then, there is usually something incorrect with my order or items missing. I like that there are some unique menu items and this place is more convenient for me distance-wise but it almost doesn't seem worth the trouble at this point. Prices are also somewhat high, especially for the dips which are a lot smaller than expected.

Food was good, but we ordered 2 Margaritas that tasted like toilet water. Menu says they are made with Patron, but server advised us AFTER receiving the drinks they used house tequila and should have requested Patron specifically. They would not replace or refund despite the complaint and not even being able to drink any of it. They followed it up with dirty looks and attitude. Was told all alcohol sales are final. We wanted to try someplace new, but instead we will continue go around the corner to Mr. Taco for a much better experience.

The food was good, We all ordered drinks, the margaritas were the nastiest margaritas I ever tasted. They didn't care or adjust the bill. Our waitress was quite rude. If you go there don't waste your money on the house margarita. There's better customer service at other restaurants. So very disappointed.
