Wow I can't believe they are still open. Someone should take access away from the owner! Take criticism, apologize and move on.

The customer service at this restaurant is terrible. The food was horrible definitely not authentic. The only reason I gave 1 star is because I had to choose something. Will definitely not visit this place again

Inedible.. the noodles for both pastas (one penne, the other angel hair) were undercooked. Not al dente. It was oddly chewy. Got thrown in the garbage. I did not complain to the restaurant and was just gonna take the hit. I wasn't going to leave a review until I read multiple Yelp reviews the following day where the OWNER is calling customers "idiots" and "morons" repeatedly. I understand someone wanting to tell their side of the story, but do so with some dignity and professionalism.. Childish name calling is enough for me to not give them another chance...

I have had nothing but good experiences here. The food is excellent and the prices are good. I have had the lasagna, pizza, chicken fettuccine, Greek gyro with fries, salads and countless desserts. And a few local micro brews. Service has always been excellent and everyone has been very friendly to me. Sure the food takes 15 minutes but I can't cook it at home any faster and I surely can't make it taste as good either. It takes time to cook food folks, at least you know it is freshly made. And my food always comes out hot. The lasagna and baked blackened chicken fettuccine comes out so hot I have to let it cool because steam is rolling off of it. Bonus: they recently reduced their draft beer prices and they have 20 to choose from. A+++

I don't use this app very often and I just saw your private message to me where you claimed my wife and I brought your server to tears. You are absolutely full of yourself. Your server was talking to us about what an a** you are. We also tipped her 50% of the full price because we felt sorry for her having to tolerate you as a boss. If she was "in tears" it was because of you. You must be a trust fund baby, because there is no way someone could drive a Ferrari and own a business with your nasty attitude and lack of customer service skills. Instead of posting narcissistic responses, why don't you give your ego a rest and actually listen to what people are saying about you. Is it possible that you are an a********

Please allow yourself to live with passion and a heart toward the cares of others. The owner of this restaurante is a talented and masterful Chef. Old world Italian dishes are prepared to perfection most every time. When one's passion truly is preparing food to please families with flavors extraordinaire and he instead receives attacks over third party coupons or some other difficulty he has tried to make amends for in as reasonable a manner possible and all the while still in the midst of providing the preferred but not demanded service of caring and sharing his culinary skills for others in a timely and selfless manner, there begs an obvious disparity of understanding his passion for food and new friends. While every business owner works diligently to enjoy a pleasant and continuing growth in the family group of patrons, those patrons who make unreasonable demands creating strife and discord around truly insignificant moments in this life clearly are missing the true spirit of the atmosphere that exists in the ambience of food and flavors created in the excellent dishes served here by the kindest staff in a most soothing and relaxing eating experience in Madison County, Alabama. Personally, I have tasted the passion of the Chef's dishes on several occasions now and am currently slowly and deliberately enjoying each tasty entree on their menu. Thus far, each dining experience has surpassed my expectations in each area of taste, service, and value. Of course, Mangia is no exception to the rule when it comes to business, it's patrons and it's vendors, their owner and staff actively work toward doing what is right and fair in as just manner as possible to smooth out difficulties that arise. Some of the harshness I read in other comments here for an unfortunate event that did not go at all like the customer wanted was sad to read because they appeared only to be interested in themselves coming to terms with the fact that things just don't always go exactly as one may prefer their demands be met. The even greater loss, however, is friendship and a frequent tasting of such bountiful Italian cuisine. BTW Many customers don't know what they miss if they don't save just a little room for desert. Mangia is hot, not lukewarm, as they are passionate about life, food, and the mutual enjoyment of others. I have no qualms about reserving any special occasion dinners for my family here too.

Used to eat at the older location in Madison for years and never had any issues. Back about a year ago we purchased 6 10 dollar gift certificates directly from the restaurant. Today my wife tried to use them and was told that they were not good at that location. No effort was made by the management to mitigate the issue as it's the same franchise, they just moved from the older location and the difference in location was the reasoning they gave for not honoring. The food here has always been good, but this lack of customer service and not honoring your own certificate that you sold to a customer just makes any good here disappear.

I have to first say, WOW the owner feels a need to have rude, unprofessional, replies to so many customer comments. Very defensive for a business professional that survives by providing quality product and customer service. And customer service is my complaint!! I ordered online at 3:45pm to pick up pizza at 5:15pm. I arrived at 5:10 and was told it would be a minute, then a follow up of another 10-15. I was told it was being made "fresh" Cover word for we didnt see your online order. I was asked to go to my car and move it to the side of the building and they would bring it out. I moved my car, but I was going to stand there and observe their work and behavior. The female manager has the same unprofessional approach that the owner appears to have. The old saying lead my example... carries over. Her resolution to my problem was to refund my money. I explained all I wanted was honesty and my food. Side note I need to feed my family and get to a meeting and getting pizza at 515pm was in the schedule to get all cared for, not getting my money and starting all over to get a meal for the family. I finally got my pizza at 530pm, they belamed the 3rd party online ordering that it does not give them the time to have the order prepared, but in another sentence stated the order states 530pm pick up and I wanted to know how it would say 530pm when I entered 515pm for the order I placed at 345pm. The message did not add up. Upon leaving the I called the store and stated I wanted to order a pizza what is the wait time, the gal stated 15-20minutes. Interesting the amount of time I waited for my made fresh pizza that I ordered at 345pm for 515pm pick up that was started when I walked into the store at 510pm and left with the pizza at 530pm. Im not a math expert, but the time line states that they missed my order and made it as soon as I showed up and were not honest about the oversight and the only service recovery offered was "here is your refund and leave" MY overall complaint is SOLELY poor management, rude, no service recovery, complete LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. DISAPPOINTING!! Especially since the food was good and it is 1 mile from my home. Customer service is EVERYTHING, for that alone I am not returning and I'm going to share my experience. Word of mouth is an incredible marketing tool.

My wife and I went to mangia for lunch today because we had gift cards that were going to expire soon. After running up a 50.00 bill the manager said she would not accept the gift cards because they were under new management. When we questioned her she started speaking loud to us and had other customers staring at us. I will never step foot back in that place again and will advise everyone I know to avoid it as well 1 you are correct, I bought vouchers for Mangia from WDRM radio rewards that is supposed to be good at mangia Italian restaurant 2 you are correct, it has a different address however when you pull up your website it states you have moved to your new location meaning you had to be at the old location when the vouchers were purchased so they should be valid. 3 you and your staff are the morons. How smart of business man are you to think people who see this review are going to think wow the owner calls people morons., let's go there to eat? I guess with your business knowledge loosing 1 customer doesn't mean anything but these days when you have poor customer service, word spreads!!

I honestly can't figure out where the good reviews are coming from. I had the Eggplant and my Husband had a pasta dish. The eggplant was absolutely terrible and his pasta was OK. A jar and some noodles would have been better. A month later, the thought of this place still makes me cringe.

Pizza was very soggy and wet with banana peppers that are extremely vinegary making the wet pizza also very sour.

We placed a pickup order for two lasagnas. As we waited for our food a family complained about their food as they left, noting that it was not hot. Unfortunately their concerns were dismissed by the staff, who explained that "the oven was 700 degrees and there was not way that the food wasn't hot enough". Our food was brought to us "fresh out of the oven" and we headed home to eat. After arriving home less than 10 minutes later, we discovered that our food was luke warm as well. We immediately called to advise the manager of our concerns and they were immediately dismissed usas well -- blaming the food temperature on the time between pickup and eating. He also explained that we could simply pop the food in the microwave to heat it up. After asking for a partial credit for our charges (almost $40 for two dinners), he refused. He did offer to put our food back into their 700 degree oven if we brought it back to them. After finally zapping our food in microwave, we discovered that it was VERY salty and that the pasta was not al dente and was very undercooked. Unfortunately, the food was not edible and absolutely not worth the cost. This place reminds me of one of the restaurants in the the Gordon Ramsey series Kitchen Nightmares. The staff seems to be oblivious to the restaurant's shortcomings and sees no need to address any complaints that arise. I question whether they have actually tasted the food or checked the temperatures after customers brought concerns to them. I would anticipate that if things don't improve that this place will be shutting down soon. ** As noted in the response below. They did offer to replace my food, but we chose not to get out into the cold weather to drive back to the restaurant to replace food that we were suspect would not be good either. One really shouldn't have to be so inconvenienced when paying these prices for food in the first place. We were not trying to get something for nothing, but were really asking to be reimbursed for our wasted time, inconvenience and unexpectedly crappy food. By charging this price, the expectation is that the quality, presentation and customer service is high standard. Based on the fact that two customers had expressed concerns about the temperature in the same night and they weren't willing to consider that there might actually be a problem was an indication that our trip back to the restaurant would have been a total waste of time. I suppose that I should be grateful that I wasn't called a "disgenerous moron" as my partner was when he posted a similar review on another site. This is definitely an establishment who doesn't care one iota about their customers or the service they provide. As I said before -- these folks appear to feel that what they are doing is 'good enough' and anyone who is worthy of no respect and only name calling. Low class place will be out of business soon if things don't change...you guys can count the days because we definitely will not be back

Food was good, wine is expensive. Overall I wouldn’t go back. A local restaurant off the beaten path costing $70 for dinner for two with wine is too much. Glass of house wine is $8. Would rather pay same price at high end Italian restaurant

I got the Meat Lovers pizza with bread sticks and marinara. They were all awesome!! Others got the pasta and salads and they were great too. I'll definitely be coming here again when I'm in town next.

Colleague had the Buffalo Chicken Salad which he said was okay. I had the Chicken Carbonara. To be truthful, I’ve had better chefboyardee food from a can. The chicken and noodles were burnt and dumped into a cardboard takeout box served at the table with plastic utensils. Asked for parmesan cheese and server brought me one tiny pack. Had to ask for a few more. Don’t think this place will survive the covid hysteria. It was previously a decent place to eat, but now it’s not. Sad.
