A great place if you like light seafood such as fish, oyster, shrimp. It is usually pretty quite during that late lunch to early dinner time. With you typical sport broadcast on most the tvs and a few will have tv dramas or comedy to mix it up. The staff has always been very friendly and will check up on you at a pretty frequent pace. One thing if I could advise that would help the store more is that while the floors are clean the walls from what i have seen have some caked on stains from ketchup and other condiments. Maybe sometime when the time allows a good wall washing would really help this store shine.

Greeted quickly by friendly hostess who asked us where we’d like to sit! Waitress appeared quickly to take drink and food orders. The appetizers (fried flounder fingers and fried crab claws), came out within 10 minutes. The main meal came out within 15 minutes later, piping hot. We ordered the “All You Can Eat Fried Fish”: catfish and whitefish; and grilled shrimp. The meal came with delicious hush puppies, corn fritter, shrimp slaw and the best tasting, homemade-like, French fries. All the food was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious!!! We were so glad we came here!!! Will be back!

We decided to dine at this place, and oh god what a mistake…Our waitress was a teenager that rather spend time on her phone than coming to us at least once or twice during the meal and ask if we need anything…The food was mediocre at best. The catfish was ok and tasted fresh. But the oyster was just horrible and tasted really bad. And the cherry on top was the seafood queso which was advertised to have crab and shrimp pieces diced in it, was just normal queso without any “seafood” in it or tasting like it. Since we practically didn’t have a waitress, we asked the hostess for help about the queso and she went away and came back and claimed that they made a mistake in taking the order and brought us normal queso (which I don’t understand why a seafood restaurant would have normal queso to begin with). She brought us another serving of the “seafood” queso that was “done right” and it tasted exactly the same as before…Anyways, that was my first time eating at this place and will be my last time.

Arrived with party of 7 at 5:20pm. Manager asked waitress how many in party. When she said 7 he said “GD” I can’t do everything. I’m “manager bartender server cook”. He told folks at the bar that and we heard as only 10 ft away. I think he wanted us to hear. This place is under new management begging for people to visit them. Obviously the new owner needs to have a chat or fire the “manager bartender server cook”. Will never go back and will post on Facebook

Great food, especially grilled white fish, Cajun pasta and the shrimp etouffee is a must! The staff is always friendly and Kate, our outgoing, informative server tonight was a star in getting our food right to us. Great job!

Good value, nice atmosphere. Got my shrimp basket to go, delicious, still hot, fresh and crispy by the time I got back to my hotel room.Definitely helped this east coast guy feel less homesick while here in Alabama for almost a month for work.Standard shrimp basket was well priced, a good amount of food, and the to-go containers they use are the good ones with the steam holes so things don't get really soggy on your drive home!Will definitely be checking back in soon.

Cool fries - crab cake more breading than carb - also ordered seafood sampler - tasteless half fried fish over fried hushpuppies oysters not all the way cooked!! Took awhile to get the food in the first place !!!The super disgusting thing was the slimy lettuce under the crab cake.I would give it a zero if I could !
My daughter and I had a great experience here for lunch today. Daniel was our waiter and he was friendly and attentive. We got a couple fried baskets and they came out quickly and hot. Everything had the perfect crisp and my daughter really loved the seasoned fries. We can't wait to come back and try more!

I love the oysters here. Whoever shucked them last Friday night really knew what they were doing! Clean, fresh, no shell pieces, just wonderful. Also, every time I've been here the staff has been very hospitable and cheerful, taking the time to see that all is well. Best of all, I accidentally left my credit card there over the weekend and they put it safely away, in a safe, for when I discovered it gone on Monday. I was so grateful for their honesty; they have a customer for life!

Planned to share takeout coconut shrimp last night but enjoying a second meal tonight. The only reason for subtracting a star is I wish I'd originally known to order take out at the bar. That would only be small fraction if possible. The food was ready long before I finished the yummy milkshak-ish drink. The employees couldn't' have been more friendly. I'm just sad there were so few customers. Shrimp Basket is such a unique Madison restaurant, we need to support it.

One of our go to for seafood. We've always received great and friendly service and the food is always on point. We love the coconut shrimp and the crab claws. Hubby always gets their shrimp basket and enjoys the fries while I have tried several dishes on their menu. The shrimp and grits was good so was the shrimp po-boy. Overall, the food is great!
