Tours of Montgomery is a wonderful place to see some of the best-unknown stories of the Civil Rights and Centennial Hill area. Even though I live in the city there is so much to learn, and Ms. Val has done an amazing job sharing what she knows! Head to her shop as well for a pretty substantial variety of items to commemorate your time in Montgomery!
I am in town for a conference and walked over to see MLK’s house when I happened upon this lovely shop. Ms. Val was so sweet — I was sweating buckets and she handed me a bottle of water and talked to me all about the history of the block — she showed me the famous picture of Dr. King leading the students in protest in front of the historic hotelBen Moore, and then took me outside so she could take my picture in the very same spot.
