? The food here is tasty. The brisket is my absolute favorite, though everyone loves a great pork sandwich! Their pintos and cornbread are a good southern staple!!

Ordered the loaded bbq potato and the house made pumpkin apple cider cake. The potato was warm but almost raw inside still, and not even warm enough to melt in the butter or cheese or anything (this is a self assembly, nothing on it). The bbq sauce is good if you like watery vinegar bbq that is mostly vinegar not much flavor beyond that. None of us in the party could stand more than a bite of the cake, it tasted like raw flour and baking powder. Even if I was starving I wouldn’t eat it. And Everyone in our group agreed my potato was raw. Photos show needing to eat potatoe with a KNIFE and the slop that was the “cake” which was inedible.

We were in the area and asked some guys for a recommendation for some good local food. We were told New Market BBQ was a good place to go. When we got there a nice lady explained some of the options and there were a few people were there picking up orders. We decided to get the half chicken, 1lb pulled pork, a pulled pork potato, a side of pinto beans and macaroni and cheese. The pulled pork wasn’t horrible. Definitely average. The half chicken was good (just a little dry but still good). The macaroni and cheese was great. The pinto beans needed a little more flavor but were cooked perfectly. The pulled pork potato was actually disappointing. Just a potato with a side of sour cream, butter and little cheese. The sauces were not good at all!! WAY too vinegary. It was basically all vinegar. Horrible. Overall, if they moistened up the pork and chicken, kicked up the seasoning in the beans, and threw in some better sides for the potatoes (bacon, onions, more cheeses), and really improved their sauces (like completely improved), it would have been much better! We really wanted to take advantage of the great weather and sit outside but the atmosphere was really boring and uninviting. Might try again if they made some changes but overall just your run of the mill small town BBQ.

No photos to busy enjoying our late lunch. We had been driving home from a camp night and pulled over after passing it and both going “BBQ”!!Hungry we were not disappointed, both the brisket & pulled pork sandwich was flavorful and moist. The sides - Mac & Cheese with Green Beans for me… so good! Comfort food bringing it in.Glad we stopped, the people there are all super friendly. We ate at the pavilion as we had our dog with us.

It's a order at window and sit down at a picnic table kinda setup with a cool atmosphere. Food is okay not bad but not great. Would not go out of my way to get again but wouldn't turn down. Tried the ribs, brisket, and turkey sandwich. Brisket was not exactly moist, turkey was good but sandwiches buns where kinda stale, and ribs had a rub but were much too dry. Gotta say kinda disappointed had to high expectations from previous reviews.

By far the best bbq in North Alabama! I have never had brisket or Mac n cheese better than New markets. I've had them cater big events and have had nothing but compliments from guests on the food. Only downside is they are open from Friday to Sunday but if you order ahead and plan for it then there is no problem!

I've driven by many times, and for once, decided to stop in. Actually it was my wife that decided for us and I'm glad she did. The pork sandwich with slaw was delicious. The beans had some spice and zip to them. And the Mac n cheese was excellent, as was the loaded potato. There's both vinegar slaw as well as mayo based, and both are good They are open on Fri, Sat and Sunday,. So make sure you stop in during hours. We definitely want to go back and try more of the menu.

Tried New Market Barbecue for the first time today. We just moved here. I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and pulled pork with vinegar cole slaw and potato salad. I also ordered a 3rd side of the smoked Mac and Cheese but was not in my bag. I did have some of my son’s because he didn’t like it and it was delicious as was the pulled pork and brisket. I subbed a cornbread for a roll but I got a roll anyway and my husband who got the ribs got my cornbread but since he hasn’t eaten yet I didn’t know or I would have just switched them. We all got the banana pudding and I thought it was really good but very sweet.I deducted a star for the missing side that I paid for but didn’t get and the cornbread that I didn’t get but overall I really liked it and the people were very friendly and I’ll definitely be back!
